A side by side of both from several angles would have been cool! just put them down on the table next to each other and maybe a Primaris too, so you see how big the height difference in relation to a standard dude is. Apart from that, remarkably stellar job!
Perfect timing, I'm working on these guys next. I'm definitely going to do this. The Centurions always reminded me of little kids stuffed into winter clothes.
For cutting the leg armour in two, you could use a Panel Scriber, like a Tamiya 300074091 Plastic Scriber II. The conversion is great; especially the way that you use bits from kit rather than requiring a second model to finish it.
Moving the shoulder pads up and in really does a lot for this mini, I only do that and then make then a tiny bit higher by putting a bit of GS in the waist assembly. I dont think they need more to be honest
Dude this is sooo good!!! I've been watching you for a while now and I'm really feeling it now, I think you've improved so much over such a short time in terms of the production and wisdom/learning you're delivering. Thanks heaps, keep going! Love your work!
Really good video. Conversions can be scary but with awesome instructions that are clear and concise and easy to do it takes a lot of the hesitation/fear out of it.
Wow, you gave me some great ideas for some Alpha Legion Obliterators... I want them to look like normal centurions (since my army is meant to look like normal marines and the models basically have the same stats and general size) but slightly different. I think your conversions and a few sneaky and "mostly" hidden mutations might do the trick. Thanks
These models have been crying out for that conversion. I'm guessing you have noticed the heavy bolter centurions use in the imperial fists siegbreaker formation enabling 43 additional mortal wounds per turn using 3 co lol!
Man I hated my centurions that much I sold them after building and painting them back in 7th...will have to get some more and try this. They genuinely look good once converted. Can't wait to see the next video on these. I'm seriously thinking about doing imperial fists myself
Pretty good tutorial, only thing I dont like is the missing lower leg struts and the pistons on the back of the feet, but can always just put them back in
Made some kitbashed cebturions myself the otther week. I gave them siege shields made from spare tank doors. I know they don't get any use from it buy its a cool astethic. I also gave them a thunder hammer as I'm really not keen on their drills they come with. Apatt from that I added a few templar helmets to fit the knightly look of the chapter and some robes made from cannabalised storm cast eternal peices
That conversion, good sir is straight BAD ASS. Now I actually want Centurions. You should work your magic on the Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought. I feel it looks old timey like something in fallout. Cool for fallout but not so much 40k.
I saw in one of the comments you said your super glue was BSI. Would you mind putting up a link? I tried looking it up and there were like 100 different ones with different codes.
what are some alternative parts i could use to extend the legs so not to use the siege drills as would like to magnetize the weapons allowing me to change between assault and devastator centurions
I keep wanting to get into this hobby, but I keep thinking about my cousin who tried years ago, he spent almost $500 spent SOOO long working on everything, and didn't even come close to having a full army.....
Looks damn cool except for the shield over the second bank of huricane bolter barrels. Gues that is just me but i´m allways for more guns over less guns wherever possible on my marines.
its BSI: Carbon and Rubber Infused. when it sets, it doesnt crystalize like normal super glue, it has some flex too it which is great for minis bc the bond isnt brittle. best super glue i have ever used. amazing
I noticed you used some regular super thin in parts too, do you have suggestions on when to use the IC-2000? Is it mostly just joints for the extra flex?
BSI IC-2000 superglue. it has carbon and rubber in it. so its black. plus side is that it doesnt crystalize, thus its not brittle like most superglue. its awesome stuff
I really disliked the centurion models from the start, they just looked weird to me. After your conversion, they look a lot less weird, so at least I know now what weirded me out: Just the very odd proportions on the model.
Step 1: Acquire time machine Step 2: Go back to when GW thought it was a good idea to start introducing loads of new products to a setting that's all about ancient history and technological stagnation in a bid to increase profits instead of focusing on properly utilising the franchise in other forms of media. Step 3: Find out who decided to do this. Step 4: Apply power fist to groin while shouting "Hire someone to oversee computer games and film rights properly, and stop retconning everything! We don't need to know the origin of all the species! We don't need the Eye of Terror to change! And for the love of Khorne, do NOT put power armour in larger power armour so that Space Marines can Space Marine while they Space Marine!" Nice tweaks though.
I learned how to do this via word of mouth at a hobby shop years ago. I was unaware of any publications. If u have a link I would be more than happy to put it in the video description.
