You could be a spy. I can’t tolerate pain. None at all . I had to get a tattoo for my breast cancer radiation treatment . They put a tattooed dot between my breasts and one in my underarm. So two dots, and I cried and hated it. It looks like a freckle now. So if I cried that much just for two dots, I can’t tolerate a 12” tattoo to cover my scar on my inner arm.

I watched my 1st tattoo as it was done because I got excited watching it come to life. Especially after realizing that the needles didn’t really hurt. Honestly the most painful part was staying comfortable in the chair after 40 minutes. I was unlucky for my appointment and the artist I booked didn’t have the cushioned tattoo chair, it was a wooden school chair 😩. Definitely do like Mike says in his essential items for a tattoo appointment video and BRING A PILLOW lol.

really nice advice.. I did 8.30 hour tattoo.. and had a fun .. keep your mind out of focusing in pain and enjoy your tattoo. do conversation with friend or artist. energy is very important so eat good and full stomach.. get snacks and have breaks but not long.. enjoy

I found keeping my eyes shut really helped me. Taking that sense away helped me not pass out and the sound focus made the experience feel different. Also holding onto a sensory stress ball gave me comfort :). The thing I should not of done is have energy drinks (they thin the blood I realised after) so I noticed on my 2nd tat it hurt more than my 1st. I’ve got more lined up so I’m just gonna stick to choccy bars and Pepsi :) but this Vid had useful tips so thanks 😊

got my first one last month and just felt vibrations/nothing for 99% of it, had 2 or 3 spots that i actually felt something but was only slightly uncomfortable. It was a 3 hour session, black and white and color...... My second session was 8 days ago and got 3, each about an hour. Started with script on my left wrist, moved to right forearm with a full color dragon, and slightly above left outer ankle with 3 elephants that i need to go back and get colored. This round was 100% more painful than the first by far, 3 hours again with a break in between each one. But loved it! Love watching them get done, listening to music, having a friend with me and talking with the artiest, can't wait to get the one finished and my 5th one next session

When I got my first tattoo I was shitting myself as I am not good with pain. In the studio I use, there are 2 tattoo artists and the one that wasn’t working on me was telling jokes and generally being a clown which took my mind off of the pain and I even went back and had another one 3 weeks later and want 2 more 😁

i would recommend a bowl of porridge before. oats have a slow release of energy, and fill you up. i rarely drink alcohol now, so sober and took a drink with me. although my first tattoo wasnt in the most painful area (my forearm), i sat for 3 hours no problem. there was a mural on the wall, and i concentrated on a bit of it at a time. it was a distraction. just a little sore at the end.

Does not make it more difficult when you're intoxicated and I've never bled from a tattoo and I have lots of them I have been drunk or high for pretty much every single one of them. Color has always stayed perfectly. It's way easier to be intoxicated. Most painful tattoo experiences for me were when I was totally sober. Also.. I will actually be behind on sleep intentionally sometimes because it makes it easier for me to relax and sometimes even fall asleep for a little while while I'm being tattooed if I drink while being behind on sleep.. I can actually sleep through some of the session.

Alcohol, by its nature, serves to thin the blood, thereby potentially complicating the process of tattooing. This effect manifests as a challenge for tattoo artists, as it may interfere with the proper insertion of ink into the skin. Additionally, the presence of alcohol can lead to a messier procedure overall.

One of my tattoos I got like 10 months ago was very dark but 10 months later it’s like a blue color why?
@EvolveINK

It could be due to the quality of ink the artist used. Some black ink will turn blueish or sometimes even green.

Don't want to sound like a macho man, but I thought feeling the pain should be a part of the tattoo process. Don't use numbing cream, it's taking away from the experience, imo. I didn't really care about the pain, I think I was too focused on just getting it done and getting the tat closer to how I imagined it. It all worked out, thank god and my tat artist!

hey man i got a few tattoo questions if that’s okay. 1. it’s been like 9 days and i still haven’t began peeling yet. is that normal? 2. is it gonna effect my ink if i have a couple pimples on the tattoo? 3. my skins felt tight for about 3 days is that normal?
@luxpreloaded

Everything is good. Just keep using tattoo healin cream
@ogie86
@ogie86 2 года назад
1. Normal. Everyone heals differently. Just think of it as a one month healing process. 2. I think the goal here is to not irritate the pimples. Make sure you're using unscented soap and lotion. Don't scratch when it gets itchy. Wear not too tight clothing so your tats/pimples can breathe. Don't do too much. 3. Normal. As long as you clean it first thing in the morning and before bed, then you just leave it alone all day and just ignore the tightness/itch.👍
