Noob question here, what is the différence betweeen medium and thinner ?

There are lots of different Mediums, but the Contrast Medium is paint without pigment. Contrast Medium will reduce opacity (like you would reduce the opacity of a colour using a slider in photoshop, powerpoint or Keynote for example). A thinner will be used to improve the flow of the paint without breaking it up like water would do.

How do you attach the models? Scrape down to the plastic? I would think even superglue would just peel the technical paint off the base itself.

I scraped it down to the plastic for the larger models like the Cavalry so I could use plastic glue on them, but the troops went straight on with superglue. I squashed the base down a bit to make a flat compacted footprint and that worked well. I had to make about 75 bases at the same time, and doing them in a big batch saved a load of time.
