Hello Everyone, Winnie here.
In this video, I will show the making process of needle painting (thread painting ) in time lapse.
This is a piece I started about 2 months ago, I left it on the side because feeling tired of all those tiny stitches. I started wanting to make it as Bob Ross style, no pattern and easy, but crazy as I am, keep adding details to make it too complicated.
I cheated a bit on this one, by painting the background, and use punch needle for the grass, it’s much faster that way 😂
We all need a bit serenity in our heart, the nature is beautiful as it is , even with just trees.

In this video, I will show the making process of needle painting (thread painting ) this orchid.
I used only very light colors to keep it clean, wanted to make it into a pattern, so I tried not to make it too difficult, but not that easy either. 😂 It’s mostly with long & short stitches, just make sure to blend the colors well.
This one is quite advanced, not suitable for beginners.

Wow! I love the idea of using watercolors to paint in the background! Never would have thought to do that. You made me chuckle with the mention of Bob Ross and your inclusion of many happy trees as Bob would say. The use of the needle punch was inspired. I’ve never had any success using it. Thanks for this video and all the other videos you’ve created.

Thank you so much Lori, for actually watching the video 😊 You should definitely try the watercolor, but don’t add too much water, it’s not the same on cloth as on paper. I used to watched a lot of Bob Ross, so much fun painting that way. As for the punch needle, need to use thick cloth with higher counts, I’m not a big fan of that, but it makes short grass and moss more realistic.

Thanks Jennie 😊 I used the smallest punch needle I could find, it looks like regular medical needles, but with a small hole on the side for threads to go through.

Thank you ! I usually use thin canvas, it’s a kind of fabric usually use for making cushion cover. Thicker than cotton or linen.

Normally, when punch needle is done the effect you achieved on the front comes to the back. Could you please let me know how did you get that effect with your punch needle on the front of you work? I really admire this embroidery that you have done and it has inspired me.

Thank you. I pull out the punch needle a bit more than usual, so it leaves a longer thread out, looks more like grass this way.

Hi Miu, I'd love to do something like this on a sweatshirt! Do you know the best way how to do that? I really love these, I think they're beautiful and I'd love to make some similar for family and friends :)

It’s not easy to work on sweatshirts, I would recommend to try on a cloth first. Just practice a small tree 🌲. And make sure the sweatshirt is not stretchy.

Hi, this kind of embroidery can’t be done on a stretchy fabric. It’s more suitable for a denim jacket or canvas bag

It’s the same embroidery thread. Just pull out the punch needle a bit more than it should be, then the extra thread looks more like grass

@@MiuEmbroidery Thank you for your reply! You're an awesome artist! I just got a punch needle, and I got it without knowing that it works with yarns only, or probably some thicker threads. That was the reason I asked. Maybe I should look for a different type of the needle, not sure.

Thank you! There are different sizes for punch needles, the one I used is size 12 if I remember right. It’s small and suitable for embroidery thread 1 strand.

Thank you so much Gwen, I just feel like I’m still new in this area, didn’t want to over charge, haha, I’ve increased a little bit for the new patterns, but for those I made before, just plan to keep it the same price.
