I remember my grandparents having almost the same kind of relationship as these two lovebirds. my grandparents never finished elementary due to poverty and was forced to marry by my great grandparents in order to save my grandma from being kidnapped and forced to be a comfort woman by the Japanese during the war. they had a hard time raising mom and was always in a constant debt but they managed it somehow and remarried again decades after as an old couple. however, they're gone now but watching this anime make it nostalgic to me and makes me remember how I used to listen to their stories.

Now I'm gonna need to watch this anime😂

So, apparently Grandma regresses in age and forgets grandpa. But due to some reason, she may stay alive much longer to outlive Grandpa and several generations of their family. This realization, seemed to cause her to regress back to her more nihilistic, colder youth. This outlook being the result of her harsh childhood. On top of the fact that she was one of the few survivors of the bombings of Japan in WW2, her younger self being more cold makes sense. Grandpa does eventually bring her back, but there is still the lingering fear she may outlive her family, and regress back to that darker depression. Even if she doesn’t, she may not love again, not when she may outlive another husband she meets. But, I don’t see her doing that. The way I see it, something internal, emotionally or psychologically, in her, may be causing the curse to affect her differently. My hope, is that she dies with him, not years later. Otherwise, her younger self could do something…. drastic. Maybe, her being greed to die, is as simple as letting go of last trauma/lain? But, that’s easier said than done. Immortality is almost always a curse disguised as a gift.

So Grandpa back to old and Grandma’s whole existence became young…. I’ll be damned

Maybe they both have to...yknow, in order to regain her memories again. 😏

Crazy how the grandma and grandpa are both good looking yet their son came out looking average 😂. Also from what i hesrd both the grandma and grandpas conditions are the same. Grandma became young in every sense of the word whereas the grandpa became young only in looks and will still die of old age soon according to manga spoilers.
