Make Mine Vanilla with Momma Dee | Simply Simmons

Here's what you need for the cake:
1 box of Butter Golden Duncan Hines cake mix
1 stick of softened butter
1/2 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of vegetable oil
4 eggs
4 teaspoons of vanilla
8 ounces of sour cream
Baker’s Joy or Crisco for greasing the pan
2 cake pans
Here's what you need for the icing:
16 ounces of cream cheese
2 teaspoons of vanilla
1 stick of softened butter
7 cups of powdered sugar
Milk of your choice or half and half
Steps for the cake:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Pour cake mix, stick of softened butter, 1/2 cup of sugar, and 3/4 cup of vegetable oil in to the blender and blend on low.
Crack the 4 eggs into a bowl and add the 4 teaspoons of vanilla into it.
Add the eggs and vanilla into the blender and blend on medium.
Add 8 ounces of sour cream into the blender and blend on medium.
Pour the batter into the cake pans.
Put the cakes in the oven at 350 degrees for about 40 to 50 minutes.
Steps for the icing:
Put the 16 ounces of cream cheese, 2 teaspoons of vanilla, and 1 stick of softened butter in to the mixer and blend on medium.
Add in 7 cups of powdered sugar a little at a time and blend on low to medium, add a little milk or half and half if want a thicker consistency.
Steps for assembling the cake:
Put one of the cakes on a platter and spread a layer of icing on the top of it, add the second cake layer and do the same and then spread the icing onto the sides of the cake.
