I love the song and your instructrions. I'm a beginner but this song is one of my favorits in my life, so this have to be the first one I would like to be able to play. . And the first thing I will do is to change the high G to a low one on my uke. Thank you very much from Germany!
Nicely done! The teaching technique demonstrated in this tutorial is excellent. High quality arrangement but made really easy to learn. Thank you so much, Greg.
That has such a lovely , fuller sound than most Ukes and you are an accomplished player ;D Would you consider doing BREATH the title track from the movie SOUND OF FREEDOM ?
I've been away for a while so only seeing comments now...... Remember "LowG" is not just a sound, it's a completly different way of playing Ukulele, almost an entirely different instrument (if you want it to be).
Thanks for your channel Greg. I've been looking for a channel dedicated to Low G ukuleles. There seems to be a plethora of high G lessons and tabs, however, not so many low G sites. I am glad I found your site.
Hi Allen, I really appreciate your feedback. You may detect that I come from a guitar background and when I was introduced to the Ukulele a few years back I had very different expectations on what I could get out of this fun instrument. Therefore I immediately had a Low G string fitted before I left the shop! It took me months to get a feel for the Uke but once I worked out the techniques to use with a Low G String it's sort of easy! I teach people how to play a Low G Uke from scratch and it's no harder than learning a standard Uke BUT much much easier than learning the guitar. I love it! Easier to pick up, put down and carry around too.
That's great Steph. Glad you liked it and found the lesson useful. You know that was the first real song lesson video I uploaded onto the channel in May 2020. It was also the first time I'd ever sang the song but had listened to it for years in my childhood. I've recently uploaded Kathy's Song, another S&G classic. Thanks for watching and stay tuned. Greg
@@LowGUkeChannel. Sorry I’ve only just seen your kind reply.. BTW Greg, your Hotel California is brilliant. I spent ages learning to play it your way during our lockdown. When I’m searching YT for tutorials I always look if something of yours shows up…. I’ve learned (!! ) to play House of the Rising Sun recently - but I’d be interested to hear your take on it? Just a thought…Best wishes. Steph
@@stephmabee7958 Well Steph, I'm so pleased you learned Hotel California and thanks for such high praise for the channel. It means a lot. House of the Rising Sun is an old favourite of mine. As teenagers my friend Tom and I used to sing this on 'Youth Club' outings when we'd bring our guitars. I'm hoping to publish lessons more frequently (as I've just set up a new studio area). House of the Rising Sun is definitly a possibility, a trip down memory lane for me. I'll let you know when I'm doing it. If you have a video of you playing it..... share it with me. Keep up the good work. Greg
@@LowGUkeChannel yes of course I will send a video of me "attempting" Rising Sun. but I don't want to whole world to see it - too embarrassing. How do I send it?
