Thanks for this video. I just made a bracelet using this tie and it came out looking great! As I am not a fan of using melt-splices when I can avoid them, I instead tinkered around with a doubled Lark's Head for the beginning; it was a great success. I have posted pics on Facebook on the Swampville Craftables page. Cheers!

Great design! I made a double sized version of this design one night using the same method as your Double Solomon design for a belt... overall, it was a nice project to complete. Over 150 ft of paracord for the belt alone!

That is so bloody cool! I love that... I’m go8mg to use that design and do a slight modification to it to add an accent piece down the middle... just to see if I can make what I have Pictured in my head! I love your tutorials!

Hey there first off I love this weave and I cannot wait to try it! The only criticism I have for this video and I dont know if anyone has ever said anything before, but maybe you could try a different color background for the videos. The white background with any lights you might have on sometimes drown out the cords and it makes it very hard to see. Again love your videos and its just a suggestion. Keep up the great work!

I like to make my bracelets lose and floppy cause when you got a double cobra it makes it almost kinda squishy in a way which I think is more comfortable than it being hard as a rock.

I tried the "Gorilla Knot" and it turn out great! But, I didn't stop there! I did a extra Stitch on the outside of that and it was BIG!!! It approximately measures 2" wide.

nice vids, new sub here and i have yet to see a queen cobra and will be making one, a nice lil tip, u should hide the splice where the 2 colors meet inside the core, makes for a "stronger" bracelet, thanks again for the vids

Noticed the bracelet you had on, getting tight or already tight - you mentioned your King Cobra bracelet is too big for you, well you know you can shrink it. Should shrink by 6"

I love your videos but i have one question. I noticed all of them are with buckles can this gorrila knot or some of the other detailed weaves/knots be done without a buckle? i like my braclets secured like the "mad max" bracelt. Is this bracelt doable with the with that closer?
@MsERDoc49
@MsERDoc49 8 лет назад
+Lucchini Rodriguez Yes, you can do it "Mad Max" style. You might also want to consider a simple diamond knot and loop closure - it's really easy to tie.

Why splice this at all. Do the yellow as a cows hitch in the center and then do the black cows hitch over it. You have more usable paracord wihtout the splice and don't have to hide anything.
@spatters1971

That's what I was thinking. I winced when he said he was going to cut and splice.

Can you give some tips for me, how can I evaluate the rope length so that the rope does not run out too early. For example I'm gonna do dog collar about 60cm length (I think it's about 23,5 inches) with this method. How long the ropes should be at least?
@XxJenxXtal
@XxJenxXtal 9 лет назад
Its trial and error, I work off arm lengths, with the cord coming across my chest and arms stretched out to the sides, it makes it quicker and easier than working in inches/cms. so for example for a basic cobra stitch bracelet from around 6 to 8 inches I know I will need one arm length of each colour joined together or two arm lengths for a single colour bracelet. I now have a record of the cord measured and the outcome of the bracelet with the AL (arm lengths) I used. some say you need a foot of cord for every inch of bracelet but I found this very unreliable, you will find your own methods but its much better to have too much than to run out, and you can all ways find use for the waste cord. Hope this helps a little!
@jhondow2251
@jhondow2251 9 лет назад
I was told its one foot to every inch not sure if its true , iv never ran out and only had a few inches left over at the end
9 лет назад
Thank you! So the best way is just take the whole bundle of 100 feet and measure of how much will be left over.
@jhondow2251
@jhondow2251 9 лет назад
that would be a lot of cord . for 23 1/2 in for a dog collar you should only need to use around 24 foot of cord ( better to have to much than not enough ) . now if you are doing two colors divide it by two that would make it 12 foot per color . hope this helps .

please bare with me because this is probably a dumb question . but what is " too tight " ? i have just started making them for kids and grand kids and i wish to get them something nice !
@BoredParacord

It's really personal preference. I like to tie mine tight because it gives a nicer appearance. Some people like them softer by tying them not as tight.

@spatters1971
@spatters1971 9 лет назад
I guess technically it's the same knot but there are some innovations in this video. The color arrangement is one, and the finish is another. (However I don't like the finish; why not finish with black?) but the most important point in this video is calling out the way the individual cords twist and lay through the knot, making this the more beautiful execution. Still, I "like" your video and your credit is due.

@georgewylie7904
@georgewylie7904 2 года назад
I did that 5 yrs ago, you do it the hard way and to much joining the cords. Only two cords inside are needed. Two colored cords are only needed. Second one is started at the top. Too much cord inside your way of doing it. A lot of tightening of each knot before going to the next knot.

mine keep twisting any advice?
@TheMisterMonkeyman
@TheMisterMonkeyman 10 лет назад
I don't know if you mean the single strands keep twisting or the entire knot. If it's the knot you have to make sure that you alternate sides when you're tying it (left side, right side, left side, etc.). If you do it all on the same side it will twist into a "DNA" shape. I use the DNA shape a lot of the time for keychains and stuff, it's a cool shape, but only if you're doing it on purpose. Hope that helps. Peace.

His videos were how I learned my first knots. The details really helped, because it reduced mistakes that I made in trying to bull-in-a-china-shop my way through others' videos. Not every content creator is going to suit everyone's needs. I guess this one just isn't your jam.
