I’m glad you said that not all herbs can be done daily…… some people don’t do that, and can cause serious damage

I do not use herbs only for lack of knowledge. My journey of changing what I consume started recently. Intentional eating I believe develops in stages and for me this layer of learning has been most important for the well being of the entire family.

I have used herbs and herbal products for many years. In my garden, I have borage, yarrow, calendula, saffron and other flowers. I have recently made plantain and comfrey plantain salves. I have elderberries from our back yard in a jar of vodka and vanilla beans in vodka and vanilla bean in spiced rum. I have sweet mint and lemon balm growing in front yard planters not quite big enough to harvest yet. Dill I just took out due to heat and have used dill along with organic garlic and grape leaves to ferment many jars of cucumbers. Of course, I have oregano, basil, rosemary and a couple types of thyme growing also. My favorite is herbal tea. For that I have chamomile, cone flower, and roselle.

I do enjoy myself a cup of herbal tea every evening after work (sometimes in the last hour of work). The process of making my own tea from known sources of herbs is such as pleasure and relaxing setting, it resets my mind to just relax. I think my current favorite combination is either raspberry leaf & rosehip (sometimes adding horsetail); OR chamomile, lemon balm, mint, & lemongrass; OR ginger, korean red ginseng, lemongrass, & a tablespoon of locally sourced honey; OR Rooibos, hibiscus flower, blue betterfly pea flower, lemongrass, rose hips, apple, lavender, blackberry leaves, lemon balm, bamboo, & blueberry. I do enjoy lots of herbs by themselves, like lemon balm & peppermint.

We make and can our own lemonade concentrate. It's just half lemon juice and half light simple syrup, put up in pints. We dilute that to a liter to store in the fridge, and then serve diluted again by half with carbonated water or iced tea, over ice. We love to toss in some fresh lemon verbena to steep while the simple syrup (made with evaporated cane juice) cools. Also, if you have Azure's ear. Their fabric collection is mislabeled. Fat quarters measure 18" x 22". Their collection is listed as 9" x 44", which is a straight quarter. Quilters know the difference and will be very disappointed if they didn't read the fine print.

I also used a lot of herbs in tea and such when pregnant and nursing. Now that I am not nursing I find I don't turn to them much. I do have 2-3 teas a day -usually a tension tamer and then two cups of something calming for sleep help. I put magnesium into that last cup of the night. Exciting that Azure does them with great prices.

I've been growing calendula, chamomile, lemon balm, peppermint, and other more common herbs in the garden and freeze drying them for teas and salves. There are several that you mentioned in this video that I hadn't heard of. What's stopping me from using herbs more is that I want to know more about them before ingesting them and I haven't had a lot of time to research it between homeschooling, gardening, etc.
