for free wallpapers i use uhd wallpaper or kde wallpaper. for moving animated wallpapers i use wallpaper engine. get it in steam for less than 5 dollars. i wouldnt pay 10 dollars for wallpapers

Right click and click view then hide desktop icons

To further go into depth, right click your background picture, press or linger over "view", then at the bottom it should say, " hide desk top items". Press on that and your icons should dissapear.
