OMGOSH TY for this upload!! *Weird TRUE story,* my Psychiatrist told me last week to start focusing on doing my makeup and nails (ToTALLY NOT kidding)! I have severe PTSD, which has been getting REALLY REALLY bad at night, so she thinks that might calm my urges and panic..so I bought quite a bit of makeup BUT haven't opened any of it OR started applying it at night yet, AND lo and behold you made a video about glam hooded eye makeup (which is EXACTLY what I need)..I think this was Divine intervention! And you have no idea how badly I needed that 💜💜💜
I think it’s a great idea to try! I’m not as into makeup as I once was, but I do still find peace in my routine of skincare, watching RU-vid and doing makeup even if it’s minimal. Taking time to do your nails helps quiet or occupy your mind, too. Hope you find some comfort in it
I love watching the delicate precision of your application. It's almost like watching a Renaissance painting coming to life. And this pink chocolate eye look is luscious.
You are the only makeup influencer that I watch…not only because you are down to earth, straight to the point and your voice is very calming- but also because you have similar features to me and that’s made my life so much easier Thanks Alex
I have to stop watching you at night when I'm prepping for bed because your videos ALWAYS make me want to play! I have watched a few different makeup artists, but your videos are my absolute favourites. I have learned soooo many tricks and ideas from you. At 66, I am only just beginning my make-up journey. I used to use a little bit when I was younger, but now, with my ageing skin, skin care has become really important to me. You are incredibly inspiring, so easy to watch, and you are really beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge xx Tracie, UK.
Thank you so much for mentioning adjustments for different eye shapes. As someone with deep set eyes with very prominent browbone I really appreciate it. Other tutorials always show deepening the crease as though everyone needs it.
I love this look!! I would love to see a beautiful spring look using blue, like the shade in the Chanel rivage pallet. A pretty pastel sky blue or cornflower blue. I know you would kill it!!
I love your technique & personality. We have the same undereye issues & this video is so bold. The way you went in on the lower lid was inspiring and gave Sophia Loren vibes. Keep it up!!
Also, thank you so much for talking in the moment about the differences we can make! I have deep-set eyes that are also slightly hooded and my brows are low. You are the *first one* to ever talk about low brows!!
How did you know I needed this video? ☺️ me and my hooded eyes thank you. You have incredible energy, I'm so glad I discovered your channel 🩷 you've become my go-to when I need a mood boost!
Absolutely stunning. The colours were spot on. I'm gonna try this look just because I want to. Your content makes me so happy. Thank you for being constantly inspiring ♡♡♡
This is such a great tutorial - it’s a much more detailed version of how I normally do eyeshadow on my slightly hooded eyes! I love the eyeshadow tutorials, especially unique and colorful ideas that work for smaller and hooded eyes too.
Love this eyeshadow look and how it ties in with your blush color without being too bright. This looks can really be glammed up or down. I've gotta try this
I love that look. I like how you could stop 2/3 of the way through and it was a “day-ish” look but then darkened up it became like a “night-ish” look. 😊❤
I have deep set & small eyes and pale skin. My number one trick is precision of initial placement, and you use both my fave tips! Place a little powder down over your eyeshadow primer so you can blend with less force and more accuracy, I find color deposits from the brush a little more evenly when I do this, and then I use smaller brushes for precise initial placement of pigment. I use smaller blending brushes too so pigment always goes exactly where I want it. I was so confused for so long why most makeup tutorials were not working for me when I used the exact same brushes and technique, and then I realized I need to downsize all my brushes :)
Alexandra, your channel is so calming. It's like therapy. ¿Could you please make a video about hiding flaws with makeup? Like texture, fine lines, mid cheek lines, tags, etc.. It would be amazing. Thanks you.
I was mesmerized by your blending and layer techniques! I have a similar eye color to yours…Hazel. I think these colors would pop for sure… I couldn’t pull off all you did to your eyes because you are such a beauty but, I will defiantly try some of your color choices and techniques.❤ Thank you.
This look is stunning. The only person I have ever seen to wear pink around the eyes and not look exhausted annd bloodshot like they've just been crying!
What a great video! Thank you for always going close up when you do your make up and sharing your step by step. Also, in this video especially, thank you for going into detail on application and sharing “how to” for different eye shapes. It is really appreciated!!!
Yes!!! Lots and lots of eyeshadow looks! The layering makes all the difference! I just starting using a clean brush to soften the edges of my eyeshadow. I didn't think it was really necessary. I was wrong. 😂
Eyeshadows - that's what we need!!! I need them more, than base It is such an undiscovered undiscussed topic, especially after your video about effortless eyeshadow in colours, that were contained in your hair and eyes, it was groundbreaking for me, I am gold blond with khaki eyes, and now Im bombing goldish-muted greeny eyes looks, and them suits me so much, sooo much
This look is just stunning! I typically don’t care for pink eye shadow but I love the way you incorporated that pink blush into your eye look! Well done!
I saw the kitty vid before this one and then went looking for the makeup video because this eye look is STUNNING. Cannot wait to try it on my hooded eyes. 🥰🖤✨
@AlexandraAnele I’ve recommended your channel more times than I can count, over the time that I worked at both Ulta and Sephora! I love your eye looks, they’re always fire! You’re an incredibly talented artist and teacher, literally, among the best out there. You’re also a fair toned olive girl, of whom I sent many to find foundation recommendations. Thank you for continuing to educate and for bringing more beauty into this world ❤
Yay! I am here for eyeshadow tutorials!!! I love trying different eye looks. I am sure we all have beautiful eyeshadow palettes and we don't use them to their potential. See you soon!💯🤗🦋💄🙃🎨✌🏽
I don't really do makeup at all, but I watch your videos because your voice is soOo relaxing and I literally fall asleep to your tutorials in the background lololl ❤️
Alex, I’ve been following you for years and I have to say, your tutorials are by far the best and most consistent from other YT channels I follow. I love this look. Thank you for sharing your art and talent with us!
I have to mention that i really appreciate the fact that u post really good videos here, the content is great and thoughtful and i would love to see more eye looks 🌸
I followed your video as much as I could to do my eyes before going out earlier today. Will keep watching and trying to do better with this old gals hooded eyes. I did have a nice look today, but can do better with practice. TYVM. You're a doll.😃
❤❤Thank you. This came just in time. I was really thinking of learning how to do makeup on my hooded eyelids because all i do is all over the lid shimmer everytime. Keep going Alex, you really are making a difference and are helping young people understand their features better.
