Hey! I've made a few scripts already, I've made a film, but I'm not sure how to get more attention on it. Do you have tips on how to reach more audiences? Do you know where I could start? I am essentially a rookie in networking and publicity, and I would like more attention on my scripts and my work.
Hi! I'm far form being a professional as well, literally just beginning my filmmaking journey. I've just completed a one month filmmaking course at the London Film Academy, and I would really recommend participating in some form of networking event where you can meet people in the industry, there are many online resources that could help you find these events, and also sites where you can find different sorts of jobs in the field (even just getting a runner-type job is an amazing entry to the filmmaking world, because you can share your true interest for example you want to be a producer, then maybe next time someone will know someone who needs an assistant producer -- just an example!). And also, a tip we got in the course was to ask people you know "Do you know someone who knows someone who works in film?", apparently it's quite helpful and I imagine that it is! Hey ! Keep going! Try platforms where you can submit you movies, like Filmfreeway. There are festivals that submit scripts as well. And yes, of course try meeting people.
