Troubleshooting Steps: If your game is crashing with reshade, right click the game in your steam library and click properties. Then put -dx12 in the launch options and this might fix the crashing! If you can’t find any of the file locations mentioned in this video, you may have the game installed on a different drive! Try checking your other drives.
My game just keeping crashing, then I go the log in reshade, i see some yellow words saying "texture does not support sRGB sampling (back buffer format is not RGBA8)". I think that make my game crashes. How can I fix it?? Thank you.
This tutorial still works. Never been more grateful to find such a handy step-by-step now that I have the game on Epic games app. The maps were just too dark and devoid of color for both roles. Freddy was unplayable.
@@Purpylek ReShade should not be bannable as it does not modify game files in any way shape or form. That is what BHVR cares for. I've yet to see anyone get banned for using ReShade as well
I swear he goes into depth but makes it so easier for us like he even made a custom preset for us so we don’t have to customize it at all so yea this is exactly why I’m subscribed to kyto❤

If you need Nvidia filter instead of reshade, and want the game to look the same as his reshade. Then i have made a preset for you here: Color: - Tint Color = 0 - Tint Intensity = 0 - Temperature = 0 - Vibrance = 40 Brightness / Contrast: - Exposure = 14 - Contrast = 0 - Highlights = 100 - Shadows = -40 - Gamma = 60 Sharpen: - Sharpen = 50 - Ignore Film Grain = 30 Enjoy ;)
@@thatboytoppik it's a late response but I need to have GeForce experience installed first of all. From there on get on the game and in the lobby. Then press alt+z and the GeForce overlay should open. From there click on game filter and add all the filters he listed here. Hope this helps!

you just have to reset your game. The program is still buggy. That same thing happens to me some times. I just reset the game or kill Nvidia and reopen it. DBD is compatible with those filters, Nvidia is just buggy

If you're like me and don't have enough cooling in summer for your computer to be running as fast as it can, or if you want your computer to use less power, I'd set your frame rate somewhere between 60-90. Also if your computer can easily handle your screen's resolution at your screen's refresh rate, try setting the max to a multiple of your refresh rate, because that can technically give you more up to date info
I found the solution for everyone with a crashing game: When booting up the game uncheck everything on the list & keep performance mode on it’ll be regular dbd but your game will stop crashing. You can still use filters but make sure you turn them off before leaving the match or tabbing out
Reading the description, I highly doubt you could even get banned for this. If you could, the same would have happened for the Icon Toolbox. That being said, I’m hyped to try this out!
@@Bassemanden6543 When you start it up, it looks weird on the eyes. But the more you play it, the more you get used to it each time. I gotta say, though, my favorite thing is that FPS settings. I have a GPU and monitor that goes up to 144hz/fps, and finding out DBD underpowered itself by capping itself at 30 really blew my mind. Reshade and the .ini file changes really helped make the game look better than it initially did, despite the update in quality from the R.E. crossover update! And as I assumed, one week later, still not banned. Highly recommended.
a simpler solution so you dont have to reconfigure everything for the home key on smaller keyboards, press the fn key and back arrow and its a combination for the home key

If you really want to avoid any noticeable fps dips, set the capped framerate to about 15hz higher than your monitor, this way it would for example dip to 147 instead of 139 and wouldn't be noticeable. Shouldn't have it uncapped though since it could dip from 200 to 90 because its bored.
thats not how setting framerate caps work. your frames will NEVER exceed the available hz on your peripheral. & not only but the amount of fps you're able to achieve is highly dependent on your hardware.... your understanding is wrong
@@benjamindo8142 it is how it works. You must've misunderstood, your pc can put out 300 fps on a 60hz monitor, your monitor just wont update 300 times / sec, it'll update 60, or 60hz. And yes, obviously framerate is related to your hardware, i never said otherwise, must've read my comment wrong
great content bro! also, if you're using a recent Nvidia GPU, you can just press Alt + F3; it will open the Filters, and you can just pick the "Brightness/Contrast" filter and change all the settings you want :)

Looking through the settings, apparently the PTB when they added basekit unbreakable and the finisher mori, you remember when you were the last survivor it would widen your fov? That setting was apparently able to be turned off, and it's still in the settings file even though it does nothing

Same with me. Apparently, it started happening since the last DBD update. It never crashed before. But every since this masquerade event came dbd started crashing. it;s unfortunate because I don't think I can get used to play dbd without reshade anymore.
Did anyone have an issue where their mouse is stuck when using nvidia GeForce experience when they pull up the overlay? Every time I pull up the overlay when I have DBD open the mouse will just get stuck in the middle of the screen and I can’t move it until I close the overlay. I just to use my filters

every once in a while when i hop on dbd my shaders say they need an update and to install the newest version. i've done it before but i forgot how i did it. does anyone know how to update your shaders without reinstalling the whole thing? cause you dont need to and you're not supposed to.
Thanks the game looks amazing my only issue that it doesn’t feel smooth as before, even when I turned off the reshade so I went back to how I used to play which is the Norma graphics
I just noticed that aim assist is an option in the user settings. I don't know for sure, but it's set to true by default by the looks of it, and that may be the auto aim. You might be able to turn it off
Hello i was trying to do this, I downloaded reshade and but Dead by Daylight doesn't show up as an option for reshade. I have Dead byDaylight on Epic if anyone could help me I tried looking for ways to fix it but I cant seem to get it to work :
I dont know if it's only me but I have DBD from Epic Games and when I installed ReShade and everything, once I opened the game it crashed. "Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCES_VIOLATION 0x2057db18" Did anybody encounter this aswell?
bro i can't thank you enough, for the first time i feel like i'm playing a fair game, all survs abuse the fact that in default settings you legit cant see shit in dark corners and end up winning games because of that exploit.
If someone is going to do this or any modding/editing of a game files, please do it in an alt account (Epic or Steam), because you can get banned. Maybe not now, maybe not in a year but it can happen. Don't take the risk.
6:12 this one you can do it in your main if you want, because you're not modding the engine just changing the Game User settings, things that should be avalible in-game but they're not (and devs made promises about that). In any case to be 100% safe, do it in an alt account.
Hey Kyto sorry to comment again i figured the last thing out and now I'm wondering if you are able to use this and use another game editor if you know what im saying. As in something that edits the way the perks look or does reshade have something like that.
