Fun fact: if you use black light on fluo paints, they will really glow. Neat trick to show to your kids.

Lovely! Especially with the amount of time you put in. Also, for the big shadow weave thingy. I would maybe get more of the akhelian green for a nice transition from the purple. Get like a purple going to blue to a lighter greenish blue. Might look more "shadowy". Just a thought

Woooo! Congrats! They’re great minis, really fun to build and paint! I recommend having a browse through the rules on how the team building works before assembling as it can be a little confusing otherwise. The game is great too! One of my absolute favourites from GW. It feels like a great mix between board game and skirmish wargame. Hope you have a blast!

I have always felt that light coloured overspray is called OSL and dark overspray is called weathering.

i'm going to try to mimic you as close as i can, except i'll try to make the hair differ from the skin a little more, and i'll probably airbrush a lighter purple in one direction, and a darker purple in the other direction to get the ridges to do the work

I really love this, subscribed! For my mandrakes, I was thinking of airbrushing red fire directly onto the fiery bits (0.35mm needle), to get a quick OSL done at the same time. Do you think this would work? Or would it overspray too much? I am quite new to airbrushing.

Thank you very much! I think that would be fine, just take your time with spraying and really focus on your trigger control. Personally I prefer to paint the firey parts before airbrushing as it’s easier to get a solid coat on the flames without saturating any other parts of the model, like in the video, but it can be a good practice with your airbrush to try it!

You pulled so much detail out of so few steps. Fantastic! You reckon you could do OSL with glazing?? Or should i just invest in an airbrush?

Thanks very much! You can absolutely do it with glazing, it just takes a bit longer than the airbrush but the flip side is that you’ll have a lot more control!

Fantastic fire effects and OSL, for the shadow did you consider purples going through to black at the ends of the cloak?

Thank you! I’m still in 2 minds about what to do with the shadow. I might blend up to a magenta in the upper part of the shadow, and down to black at the bottom

@@SpensPainting Just had an idea, could do dark turquoise (like coal black) to black then highlighting the top and graduating down the folds and from the hand; starting with the fluorescent green and going down to black as well, sort of like the fire is cutting the light and producing the dark. Going darker and bluer the further down and back you go.

Great tutorial, when asked about OSL I always said "normally its black in the crevice and white on top but instead its white in the crevice and black on top" and they say "thanks for the OSL tip" and I say I haven't started talking about OSL yet.

Man, those models went from 'meh' to 'wow' real fast. Might need to pick up some of those fluo enamels. For the capes, I'd consider adding a filter over it, to 'mix' the desired color. So, since they're based green, adding a transparent orange filter on top should mix to brown (would probably have to be mixed very thing).

Wow is the fluorescent glow that insane? 6:59 the green on the chest literally lights up or is that camera? Might get myself one

Yup! It’s that insane! As it dries the fluorescent enamels really go nuts, that’s why you have to be a bit careful to not apply too much on the flames as you want to still make sure you have a lot of contrast to make them pop

@@SpensPainting They look so good. So i rewatched the video again, when you popped the fluorescent green unto the back of the mandrake 6:, were you using the normal fluorescent green? or is it the fluor green pigment? Just to be sure. Thanks!!
