I've lived next to a small bakery for the last 25 years and Can get outdated bread any time I want . I used to be able to just ask for it and they would give me as much as I wanted . Now because of lawsuits they have to throw it in the dumpster and I gotta pick it out on the sly .
I used to have a (secret) ground bait recipe directly from Mick Thill, lost it years ago. I do remember toasting (not drying) the bread crumbs in the oven though. It really worked well, we used get big schools of fish feeding right in front of us. We would get everything from 2 inch golden roaches to 25+ pound carp all on size 14 and smaller hooks and 4 to 6 pound test. Match fishing really rocks, I'm surprised it never caught on here in the States.
Everyone has their own ingredients to make carp bait,I use flour mixed with water. And it works perfect. But sometimes I do use bread when I'm cast netting four Baby carp, for gar bait 👍👍👍
I hear that strawberry jello mixed with some sweet corn and bird seed along with the bread crumbs makes a good carp pack bait. I didn't see you putting anything together in this video. Just how to make bread crumbs.. I thought everybody knew; Just dry out bread and crush it..
Why is it a 'trash fish'? I've caught large bags of Carp 100+ lbs with fish to 12lb, Redhorse to 9lb, highfin to 4lbs, carp suckers to 5lb, Buffalo, perch using maggots, corn, bread and worms. I've caught large mouths to 5lb and smallmouths, best being 6lb and I've never used a lure either, just worms. Im not criticizing, I just don't understand all the hype about Bass. The carp in the US are wild fish, they fight way harder than their European cousins, plus they fought harder than any bass I ever caught. That big Smallouth came in like a kitten in comparison on 2lb test.
