Learn how to use Natures Garden's whipped soap base to create your own swirled body frosting.
Total Recipe Weights for Pink Whipped Soap:
454 grams Whipped Soap Base
140 grams Powdered Sugar
23 grams Butt Naked Fragrance Oil
23 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer
3 drops Neon Pink FUN Soap Colorant
Total Recipe Weights for Blue Whipped Soap:
454 grams Whipped Soap Base
140 grams Powdered Sugar
23 grams Butt Naked Fragrance Oil
23 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer
6 drops Neon Blue FUN Soap Colorant
Clean & Sanitize your work area and all of your packaging materials. It is suggested that you wear gloves, protective clothing, and a hair net while preparing this recipe.
Step 1: First, prepare the pink whipped soap. Weigh out 140 grams of the powdered sugar. Set it aside for now.
Step 2: Now, you will need the whipped soap base. Use a scale to weigh out your whipped soap base for the pink portion. To this bowl, add the Butt Naked Fragrance Oil, Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and the neon pink colorant.
Step 3: Next, using your hand mixer, whip the ingredients together until they are completely blended. Set this bowl aside for now.
Step 4: To the pink soap, add the powdered sugar. Once again, whip the soap with the hand mixer. Once whipped, set this bowl aside for now.
Step 5: Next, weigh out 140 grams of the powdered sugar. Set this bowl aside for now.
Step 6: Now, you will need the whipped soap base. Use a scale to weigh out your whipped soap base for the pink portion. To this bowl, add the Butt Naked Fragrance Oil, Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and the neon blue colorant.
Step 7: Next, using your hand mixer, whip the ingredients together until they are completely blended. Set this bowl aside for now.
Step 8: To your bowl of whipped soap, add the powdered sugar. Once again, whip the soap with the hand mixer. Once whipped, set this bowl aside for now.
Step 9: Place the whipped soap in a decorating bag with a decorating tip. You want the right half filled with the pink soap base and left half filled with the blue.
Your whipped soap is now ready to use! Enjoy!

really nice. To preserve it can you use Vitamin-E Oil or Optiphen

Hello Janae! Vitamin E is an antioxidant (antioxidants help prevent oils from going rancid), but it is a misconception that it is a preservative. It does not prevent bacterial growth, although fragrance oils and essential oils are not known to have bacterial growth. So, yes, vitamin E can reduce the amount of oxidation, but we would definitely recommend using Optiphen as an anti-bacterial. - Lima NG

Hi in the video u stated u added powder sugar for thickness.....question...can regular sugar be used instead for exfoliating feeling and if not what other ingredients can be used besides powdered sugar? Just curious.

Hi, just ordered your whipped soap base, does optiphen already come in it? I didn't see you use any in the video and wanted to know just in case so I know if it is necessary to add any and how much to add. would adding the powdered sugar potentially cause yeast for females?

Hello! We do recommend adding Optiphen. The usage rate is .75%- 1.5% of your formulation. :) - Lima NG

Hi! I think Lima may have misunderstood your question. You do not need to add an additional preservative. The whipped soap base is a premade base that already contains a preservative. I have not had any issues adding the powdered sugar to my scrubs. - Melissa NG

Despite what she says, it is not good for the vaginal ph to have sugar around around it so don’t use it for that area.. I personally think it was a very poor decision to use that in what is supposed to be a cleaning soap just for the “whipped” effect..

Is powdered sugar a cheaper alternative to tapioca starch or arrowroot powder? Never seen that used in this kind of recipe before.

Hello! Vanilla White Stabilizer can be added to aqueous bases that have color stability problems resulting from vanillin and other aromatic ingredients which tend to oxidize and cause browning. - Lima NG

Hi! You could add a carrier oil. You just won't want to go over 5% total oil. So, if you are using fragrance or essential oil, that would need to be factored in as the oil portion well in order to maintain the integrity of the product. Another option would be a recipe like the one at the link below. We have incorporated shea butter and rose clay to this one. It is one of my faves! We call it a whipped shaving cream, but it can be used as a soap as well. The clay gives the soap an extra glide.

Instead of powdered sugar can I add kaolin clay to the whipped base?

Hi Melissa! We haven't tested this base with a large amount of kaolin clay so you would need to test it. Hello I've bought you guys whipped soap base and the consistency is not the same as the video. I whipped it, added some carrier oil, fragrance etc but as it rests in the jars it become a hard texture. This is with all the base I purchased. Any suggestions?

Hi Marie! It will harden slightly as it sets. However, it shouldn't be a complete solid. Are you adding only carrier oil and fragrance? Can I ask what your usage rates are on those ingredients?

@@Naturesgardencandles Hey Melissa, So I figured it out. So for I've added a butter and extra carrier oil (to get the texture I like). I see it does reduce the lather so I add a percentage of liqud glycerin. Here's another question for Melissa with my adding mango butter to my recipe should I add more preservative? (I was thinking yea but would love your opinion.) P.S I am only testing at the moment (of course) but my customers are in need of my scrubs haha😁 so trying to get this together for them as I love all FOs etc just trying to get this foam soap to the texture I want it. As I know it will withstand its structure but when I go to use and take some out of the jar it was always hard to where I had to dig in and break it off 🥺

While some will say it provides a very gentle exfoliation, I like the texture that it gives to the whipped soap. It remains soft and creamy while thickening it just slightly.

I’ve tried this recipe from the site using NG’s whipped soap base. I love the consistency and it lathers well but I noticed that after use it leaves a white cast on my skin. Is there any way to prevent this? Also, will the recipe hold up if I added a few oils to the mixture?

I have not had the soap leave a residue on my skin. I am not sure what would cause that. You can add some oil to it that might help. However, it may slightly reduce the lather.

I have had similar complaints from darker skinned customers that use my body butters if I use arrowroot powder. My guess is that the cornstarch in powdered sugar may be showing on your skin if you have a darker or olive tone. Try making without it to see if it helps?

Well I'm a baker and I have always used confectioner's sugar and on the bags it also says powdered sugar. I'm not sure if in other countries they may be labeled differently, but in the US they are the same. I hope that helps. Keep Creating and Inspiring!! Hello Angela! Unfortunately, the mica would not stop the discoloration from occurring like the color stabilizer would. Although, you could test it and see if the color with just mica works for you. :) - Lima NG

You can use either type of colorant in whipped soap. If the scent has a vanillin content it will discolor no matter which type of colorant you use. The color stabilizer will help with discoloration from the vanillin which is found in some fragrance oils. If you do not wish to use the Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, you could simply choose a fragrance oil that would not cause discoloration in soap. Each fragrance will be different. However, the vanillin content of each scent can be found on the "Important Fragrance Specifics" chart in the description of each scent. I hope this helps. -Melissa NG

how are you using neon pink soap colorant when its not cosmetic grade? I've been making my own whipped sugar scrubs, all of my ingredients are bought from natures garden & the recipe is quite different than what you're showing here - may explain why its not turning out well.

We suggest 2 parts fragrance oil to 1 part vanilla white color stabilizer. In the event that a fragrance contains very high levels of vanillin, we suggest using a ratio of 1 part fragrance oil to 1 part vanilla white color stabilizer. It is suggested that you add the vanilla white color stabilizer to the actual fragrance oil, then add that mixture to your formulation. - Lima NG
