I made the upgrade a couple months ago and I can testify this is amazing. It is simple to install and the performance is astonishing. I also did the he Bondtech IFS Extruder upgrade and I am planning on crimping the 50W heater to use it with the Mini as well.

I am still wondering why the PTEF is plastic and not metal. Since it is plastic, sooner or later it will be damaged.

Why/how does your hotend print better with the prusa mini input shaper profile? Has it been tuned weight-wise, to mach?

This upgrade made my mini a super-reliable petg printer. Installing this on my other mini now for pla performance, as high retraction prints were creating clogs. I highly recommend this inexpensive, easy-to-install upgrade.

Damn,,, i just bought a replacement hotend from Prusa directly two weeks ago. If I'd known this was an option back then, I might have gone with this upgrade instead of a straight replacement

Thanks for the video. I went back and forth on this for a while. The paste part of the install always turned me away. Not anymore!

Great to hear! It's not the most elegant solution, but we believe that the functional benefits far outweigh the cleanup required. We're hear to help if you run into any troubles!

You declare 33 mm3/s maximum flow rate with this heatbreak. Is the fan that comes with Prusa Mini strong enough to cool properly when printing at maximal MVS. I am considering to use it with 0.8 nozzle. Is 33 mm3/s MVS achievable with 0.8 mm nozzle?

Do you have a recommendation for retraction setting?
@SliceEngineering
@SliceEngineering 3 месяца назад
We recommend starting at half the distance you used before the upgrade and tuning from there! Every setup tends to be different.

Do you need the nozzle torque wrench? 30 dollars for it seems like a lot, are there 3d printed alternatives that I could use?
@ayycee5303
@ayycee5303 Месяц назад
it's a 7nm torque wrench. Very specific if you ask me....

Is this upgrade kit compatible with the stock prusa nozzles?

This kit is compatible with the stock Prusa nozzle, which should be a standard V6 with M6x1 threading.

Hey guys 6 month novice here. I upgraded my mini+ with copperhead kit but once hotend gets to print temp it oozes constantly. Is the a retraction setting I need to adjust? Thx in advance for any help. Ps Using PETG
@SliceEngineering
@SliceEngineering 7 месяцев назад
Hi Nelson! Thanks for using our upgrade and for reaching out. It sounds like retraction could be the issue, but there are lots of factors that it could be. Could you send an email to support@sliceengineering.com with some images of your print settings and perhaps a video of the oozing if you have it? That can help us have a good place to start! In the meantime, you could run a temperature tower and retraction test (there are lots of resources on this online) to find the perfect temperature/retraction distance for your filament.-Peyton

Is your PTFE same as Prusa's ? These tend to need to be replaced after some usage. I always wonder why is it a plastic and not metal.
@SliceEngineering
@SliceEngineering 4 месяца назад
Our PTFE is Capricorn premium PTFE tubing and our hotend is all-metal. The PTFE tube sits just inside the top of the heat break to create a tight seal, but never comes into contact with heat from the hot block, so it should not need to be replaced!
