Maker Hangar 2: 02 - Tricopter Build Part 1 

Frame may cost a bit, but Lucas put a lot of time into this series of videos and layout of the frame. Try to build the frame from scratch yourself and you'll find your time is worth .25 cents an hr. ! I haven't lost sight that this is a hobby that can get a lot more expensive, really fast and you can walk away know nothing if you just buy. Great job Lucas, I am loving making my Tricopter ! :)

Is there any chance that the plans will be published? The reason I ask is because international shipping combined with import taxes is very costly, especially when parts are bound to break in frequent crashes. In my country there are affordable laser cutting services.

quick tip, if you get superglue on your fingers, quickly run them under cold water, the edges will become white and give you some better ledges to take the glue off without chemicals

What can I do to increase the distance from controller to copter

I ordered the 3 motors at hobbyking. When I started assembling the arms, I had both leads coming out the same side and not opposite sides as here. I thought I had drilled wrong, but no. One arm has the closer holes, and the other arm has the wider holes drilled. It turns out that one of the motors actually has the holes in the bottom plate drilled opposite of the other 2. Does this mean that positioning of the holes is random ? (these are the turnigy 2213-980) if so, you may want to doublecheck how the holes are positioned on the bottom of the motor before deciding how to drill the arms. In my case, I swapped the "odd one out" motor to the tail, and the 2 identical ones to the front arms. So is this normal ? or am I unlucky getting motors from 2 different production batches (they look the same, the boxes they came in are the same, have the same barcode and all) ? or ?

And a parts list and location of getting parts would be fine.

Has anyone used wood glue? I'm ordering my kit today, and I think I will sand all of the parts to remove the laser flash and then use regular titebond 2. Typically when bonding wood to wood, a good old fashioned yellow wood glue bond makes a joint stronger than the shear strength of the wood itself.

Could anybody tell me, with which software theintro is made? This 3D effect on those pictures look awesome. Is there a simple way to use this effect for my own purpose?

so does this kit come with the motors,servo, battery, controller board? because u makes it seem like yea but i looked at whats in the box and it didint say...

Lucas, I emailed you with a question about parts. I'm interested in building both the flyer and the tricopter (and dropping a fair amount of money to do so), but I'm a beginner and am not going to try to piece them together by replacing unavailable parts without any knowledge or guidance on what I'm ordering. Could you post updated parts lists or reply to my email?

I would have no idea how to set up that control board and 99% of us use PC's That is way to much information for about 10 min of video..
