@@MikeHarris1984 Nope. There are people with far larger collections than he has. One doesn't live to far from him and could provide him with all the parts he could ever need. Sadly the guy is a giant A hole that most likely wouldn't help.
Must use inductive tape too lol, i caught hell taking the one off my dads mountaineer. I heated pulled and pried so hard i just knew i was going to break the windshield but it finally let go
@@ssdave9503 must be some unobtanium 3M tape, i did body work and have used nearly every type of 3M tape and never had any stick like that mess did. Must have been the years of direct sun heat cycles that anchored it on so good
That’s how we catch my lab if he sneaks out of the house without a leash is open up a car door doesn’t even have to be our car and he comes running and hops in Before people ask the reason we have to catch him is we live on a highway in a wooded area at a blind curve
@@54racemanin do the same my dog gets out without a leash I'm opening car doors she will jump right in but if not she will run the roads. Scare you to near death.
There is still great people out there. Congratulations on your collection. P.S Was blown away on how much you love your wagons & seeing the kid come out of you talking about them. 👍👍
Smart move, do not cut up that 95/96 WB4 Buick Roadmaster wagon. Those of us that love these cars are watching their numbers shrink by the day. Rust free examples are getting very rare. The Buick Wagon had the vinyl "wood" stickers standard and had to be specifically ordered to not come with them. Far more of them have them than don't. Great score on getting Tad's wagon. Very well know in the 90s B Body community and a post has already been made on the SS forum, lol. Wanted to add that the "Big Mirror" that you have discovered is the BEST mirror was only available in 94 and 95.
I appreciate so much how you actually love that bathtub wagon. It's not just a stunt for YT views! Years back I offered one to my GF to replace the dying turd & she didn't want one... I was so bummed. If I offered her one, today still think she'd say no. Yeah, that means we are still together. Yeah, "won't have a station wagons, b
@@rudedogg6331 Did you look closely? It's just a skin, very little rigidity. back near the tail light it was doubled over and contact with the wall had partially scraped through where it was doubled over. You aren't bodyworking that out without the metal tearing.
Man....I used to love the rumble seat in my mom and dad's ol buick wagon! it was no race car but the drive-in and road trip memories are the best......love ya brother and keep the childhood alive.
I love those wagons, my last one was a 1995 Caprice Wagon that I bought from the Ann Arbor Police Department, and it was their K9 patrol car. So cool !
That cassette brought back a flood of memories for me. I bought a '92 Camaro RS brand new, and it came with a cassette just like that. I still have it, I've never even taken the wrapper off. Both of those wagons are sweet. I've always liked the Impala SS conversion on the Caprice wagons.
Those antennas on the glass were for cell phones when you would have mounts in the car for the phones. You saw those in the 90's, I had one on my back window when I had an old bag phone, pre-digital smaller phones like today.
Hey Steve, you could put the quarter panels on a vertical hinge. Hide the hinge behind the taillights, put the release in the doorway as you said, and then you can secure it along the way with a series of heavy duty magnets.
Been a wagon guy for as long as I can remember. My first car was a 71 Pontiac Safari Catalina Wagon with a 400 2bbl carb. If you stomped on the gas you could watch the gas gauge go down. I've always liked the B body wagons but never bought one. Currently have a 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T wagon with an SRT8 nose on it. I got hit in the passenger front and found a partially dismantled parts wagon. I just need to get the parts pulled and painted and swapped over. Then I can do some engine mods!
With those old Pontiac 400’s with a 2bbl the gas gauge went down just as fast as the speedometer went up. As a teenager I had a ‘77 Pontiac LeMans with a 400 2bbl and it was one of the toughest engines I’ve ever seen. It had a 301 2bbl when I got it but found the 400 and put that in it because when you stepped on the 301 the gas gauge went down FASTER then the speedometer went up. They’re the same exact block all the way up to the 455, just different bore and stroke. All those old Pontiac V-8’s are tough. I beat the ever living sh*t out of that thing and it took every bit of it and asked for more.
I think those antennas are just glued on inside and outside of the glass. There are no holes through the glass. I think I had something similar in the 70’s. The signal is wireless through the glass. So easy to add to your existing plexiglass.
Already hooked on wagons. Have been since '69, when I 1st saw my '57 Two Door Business Wagon in a field w/ a 4 Sale sign. Little did I know it would end up w/ a 1 piece tilt front end, a bad nasty 302 & runnin' high 10's. I just wish they still made 2 door wagons... Volvo made the last one.
Unbelievable , what great wagons , all too good to cut up ....... what a problem. We have a 95 Roadmaster so very partial to these rides. I am glad you appreciate them . Great video and good luck on getting the parts you need .
I drive by a wagon that is still in stock form that looks like your grocery getter with the wood grain side panels. It is in perfect condition, the one advantage of living in Southern California.
I can't believe there are 4 of those wagons that have survived, let alone in that condition! You are a lucky man Steve. You must be doing something right. My dad had a '64 New Yorker wagon that was just the cat's ass. It was like sitting in the cockpit of an airplane. The one thing that really stood out to me was the steering wheel. It was rectangular, basically just like a yoke in an airplane. It also had 2 A/C units. The rumble seat would hold 4 people sitting 2x2 across, facing sideways. 10 passengers! The whole car was white leather with black carpets interior. Push button automatic trans. I think it had a 413 cid big block, but it may have been 440cid. I was only about 8yrs old when he sold it.
Far more than 4 of them have survived. I own a 1995 Caprice Wagon and know quite a few others that have them. They may be disliked by most of the car loving public buy they have a loyal fan base. Upkeep isn't easy because they have zero aftermarket support outside of a few pieces that are shared with the more loved Impala SS.
@@williamtyler7982funny you say that because nearly everyone I know of thats not sitting in a derby guys storage field has the whole impala ss style conversion thing that was popular a while back
My 95 has 236k on it. It was a mess when I got it back in 2017 with 197k and have slowly brought it back. Parts are getting harder to find though. Currently putting air ride in it and redoing the interior.
Cool wagon. The thru glass antennas don't require holes which is the neat part. They couple thru the glass. Not the best but not bad. You'll have the wagon back on the track in no time!
This is a real car guy... "I need parts", 2 donor cars later.. "I need even more parts". Love the idea of a fleet of drag/autocross/burnout wagons. Awesome.
Two weeks ago just north of Waco TX, I saw the exact white fake wood side station wagon. It was very much in stock mint condition. Well mint at 70 mph I was traveling i35
I grew up driving my best friend's parent's Caprice wagon. They are almost indestructible, even lasting long past jumping a railroad crossing and bending the chassis in the middle and sinking it in a canal after a night of less than sober driving through the countryside. The best part was the license plate said "SUPER QT". Imagine a bunch of teenager guys driving that until it died a horrible life many years later. It's nice to be able to live vicariously through someone else and remember the experiences we should never have lived through as a teenager. You are one of my heros for sure with the positive attitude and amazing knowledge base and willingness to share. Thank you for being the man you are Steve.
Back in 85 I helped my cousin pull a hillside Hemi out of an Volarie wagon and shoe horned a 413 Wedge in it. It went to MI along with his 73 Cuda 340 six pack 4 speed he built from the frame up.
Optispark! I remember on my 94 Firebird the only solution for that was running a $800 msd opti and that still didn't guarantee you were free from ignition issues. The coil to spark conversion didn't exist back then.
Those antennae are for early console-mounted cell phones, not CBs. They are glued to the window inside and out, there is no hole through the glass. I knew being this old would pay off someday...
They make antennas like that for different frequency bands. Ham operators use them. Those are probably old cellphone antennas. At one time mobiles had 2 antennas for receive diversity in rural areas.
Love that you are saving these! I am fond of wagons; grew up getting hauled around in grandpa's 72 Buick Estate and my mom's 79 Zephyr. Ha! This brings back memories; some 20 years back I got hit and car was totaled off. I bought it back from insurance co and within a few weeks I had two more; one running and one to rebuild using the parts from the wreck. Good times making lemonade from lemons.
I saw the white wagon in transit in ABQ, NM and the only reason the wagon body caught my eye was from watching this channel! I saw it and I immediately thought of Steve’s car, funny thing is that was also Steve’s car!
Ha! We feel your pain brother. BTW, those antennas a stick on. You shouldn't have 2 on the same glass panel. And they are also frequency specific. So what your making is a huge fender skirt. Nice!
Hi Steve love your videos while you're at it you might as well panel the other side to make removal of that tire just as easy as the one on the passenger just a thought from a crazy old man out in California
MAN STEVE, YOU are the coolest guy ever! I love 💕 your passion for wagons. I also fell in love with them. I remember as a kid being driven in one and sitting in those rear facing rumble seats. I always seemed to be in Buick wagons for some reason. Anyway, thanks for rescuing these really cool cars, it's appreciated 👍. Thanks for the video 📸.
its makes me soooo happy to see your appreciation for these cars, i know ive been rambling but damn man what a score, clean the buick up and make it a mint luxury driver
I think why I like your vids so much Steve is you are a TRUE car guy! I went through sort of the same thing(years ago) you are, only with 67 Coronets, really hard to say "this one I'm going to cut" Thank you for the great vids you make. I do learn from them too;)
I was driving home from New England Dragway, headed east on Rt 202,not far outside of Sanford,Maine when up ahead on the left a white Roadmaster with the woodgrain trim pulled out and headed toward me. Guy probably never even knew why I was staring at that car so intently as he passed by. I texted my buddy when I got home-I said "Dude,I just saw Steve Morris' wagon!" We laughed.
I was already In love with wagons steve your road master just increased the boost! Love your channel bro keep em comin good luck with the wagon brother!
Love the humblene$$ I couldn't cut either of them up either the white one is just clean white on white exterior no trim sweet gold one headliner I've never seen the moon roof in one of them I think that makes the one sweet too an never paid attention to yours I thought side mirrors where aftermarket cause there on door an would definitely leave antennas in it character both definitely one of a kind
Wagons gone wild🤣. Always had a soft spot for a wagon. My best friends parents had one that we both drove while getting our license. Had wood grain sides and all. The license plate was "KIDLIMO" i sat in the rear facing seat for 7 hours my first time going snow boarding in Mammoth when we were 15 years old.
I've bought and parted out about 15 of these cars over the years. Most of them had posi rear ends and lt1s. They actually still weigh about 3800 pounds without an engine and trans.
I love station wagons. My dad purchased a 58 Pontiac Safari that was hit in the front end and we repaired and painted it back in the 60's. Later my dad purchased new, a '67 Chevy Biscayne wagon with the 250 six cylinder and three speed. After folding down the rear seat, a 4'x8' sheet of plywood would fit flat on the floor. I believe this was the first year Chevy used the Saginaw 3 speed with a synchronized first gear. That was a fantastic car. I would sooner have an old station wagon than any new car.
Good idea, Clark is old enough to know how to work an English wheel to make body panels which would make a great video. Some old boy in NC who used to make bodies for NASCAR before they went spec can make you one. Don’t cut up decent classic wagons.
That car is a 1995 I also have a 1995 Roadmaster Estate wagon, it has the small pop out windows in the back, and it has those exact same mirrors that are paint matched to the body. Mine is blue, with the blue matching interior. The backwards facing third row seat was discontinued after the 1995 model year. And that's when they also switch to the mirrors over to mounting on the door panel instead of in the Triangle of the door window.
That is also how the early cell phones worked in cars .. you had a little dock on hour dash, and when docked, it would use the thru glass antenna. This was on the mid 90s
Bet the trans is smoked. While I LOVE the technical stuff, this is one of my favorite videos you've done. You are sooooo freaking happy considering how sick you were at the start. If not raining tomorrow I'll go scrounging thru local yards for your parts. Raleigh NC.
Steve, yes, sugar Bub and cotton candy for your daughter. Wrap or sticker but I think you should if you can aim for a 10 second bracket or 12 second bracket car so she learns control on the track so she can grow into faster cars as she improves
Nice content Steve. Rebuilding The BoostMaster is alot like life. When we have issues from a wrecked life, we can be rebuilt too. And better than before, always keep the faith and hope up. It's possible make a damn fine glass of lemonaid out of those lemons life hands out.. BoostMaster lives on..................
