Elf, with the black handle. I've never been disappointed and I've even had a couple higher end brushes here and there but I reach for elf brushes so much more because well I have more or them because they're cheaper and they are so good.
Wet n wild new line is amazing the pink and white ones literally don't even use my Mac 217 to blend I only use my crease brushes from wet n wild and their literally 3$ so it's easy to buy a few aside from my it cosmetics flat top kubuki I reach for my wet n wild ones over my high end these days I would recommend if you haven't tried! Walgreens has them :)
I think you using the $10 pallete was WAY better of an idea anyways! No one wants to go out and buy multiple eyeshadows for like $5 each when you get all in one big pallete for the price of like two. Kathleen, I love your videos!! Also, I highly doubt your skin is detoxing. Typically you don't detox when you cut out bad foods. Bad foods are the ones the cause breakouts and skin problems. You may want to check to see if maybe you are allergic to something you are eating or something in your skincare. A lot of times a food allergy or sensitivity will cause skin concerns, such a breakouts, chicken skin... Etc. just a suggestion! Speaking from experience 😊
I went to an allergist & thankfully I'm not allergic to anything... My dr thinks my body is trying to get rid of all the bad stuff I used to eat. Sigh. Who knows.
+KathleenLights I am told by my doctor I dont have any food allergies but my skin cleared up when I stopped eating cheese and ice cream and milk. so sometimes its not an allergy just a sensitivity issue. and for that its trial and error to see what causes it.
Exactly. Even if someone is not allergic it doesn't mean they can eat everything without problems. I'm not allergic to anything (been tested twice) but I do not tolerate most dairy products (I'm saying most because for some reason hard cheese and yoghurt are fine), some fresh fruit and some types of meat...
I used to have a lot of pimples and my skin condition is sooo bad.Until someday someone told me not to eat eggs and milk ~and I am almost pimple free now .Even the boiled eggs will make me breakout =_= and I like boiled eggs,sooo sad

Hey Kathleen. I don't think your skin is purging. I think that your skin is not reacting well to the foreo. I have sensitive dry skin as well and I tried the foreo a while back and it gave me really bad breakouts. I thought I was purging as well but as soon as I stopped using it my skin got better. I realized that I might be sensitive to the silicone it's made of. Maybe you should give it a try and stop using the foreo for like a week. Hope that helps!
But I've been using it for MOOONTHS now & it never did anything :( I actually stopped using the foreo the first week of August just in case... But it's still happening :/
oh man that sucks. well maybe try manuka honey as a face wash and a mask and diluted apple cider vinegar as a toner. these help me tremendously when i break out. hope this helps.
+KathleenLights I know you're already big on skincare, but I'd recommend really looking into skincare ingredients. Many products that claim to be good for your skin actually still contain harmful ingredients such as alcohol or fragrance... I wanted to recommend Paula's Choice RU-vid Channel, but it seems they are revamping their channel right now and have deleted all of their videos. But maybe you could look up their website and find some information there. This really helped me when I was going through a "bad skin" phase - and now that I've learned more about skincare, my skin has never looked better!
Totally agree! I have really bad cystic rosacea (like when my skin gets angry, I get tiny bubbles all over my face) and you would not believe how many products that say they are meant for sensitive skin or that say "calming" or "soothing" contain irritants! Anything containing citrus essential oils, menthol minty anything, alcohol, etc.
I'm not sure if it's just in my country (I doubt it) but Kiko is having a major sale on their mascaras! Already picked up three of the extra sculpt ones because we all know it dries faster than lash glue 😂 thought I'd let you know x
Awesome video! Yes, PLEASE do another full face using drugstore makeup and affordable brushes. I love all your makeup videos, but especially love the one you did using E.L.F eyeshadow prisms in Naked. I LOVE bronze smokey eye looks, but really any makeup video you do is great. I also have that Lipstick but it's in the shade Dreamy. I always scrape off the excess product on the wand and put on a thin layer of it, because if I put it on without scraping it then my lips will look chappy and dry.

Pretty sure I read Nyc don't test on animals! It's annoying how drugstore brands that don't have a lot of money to spend on unnecessary animal harming still manage to get their products approved! If small brands can why can't big ones!

Hi Kathleen! I hope it doesn't come off as rude but I have the same skin type as you (and go by your skin makeup recommendations for that reason) and I've had to deal with the same kind of texture and pimples for a few weeks now just recently. I found that giving my skin lactic acid (a simple Greek yoghurt mask to which I would add Manuka honey) really helped me with the breakouts, and holding off ANY exfoliation for a couple weeks really helped with irritation. I obv don't know what your current routine is but I find too much exfoliation for dry skin can be so hit or miss. Anyway I thought I would share these two tips in case they might help :D love youuuu and your channel!

So if ypu want that go and check them out. Kathleen is the best when it comes to do amazing looks with super affordable products.

I actually really appreciate the time and effort Kathleen puts in her drugstore videos because not everyone has perfect jobs or perfect parents to buy you M.A.C. products or other high end so....

But most people here actually appreciate that she does a good mix of both drugstore and high end, so No need to keep asking her to focus more on drugstore is my point. Try it and then maybe you will be able to buy nicer things too
I think it's the eyeshadow palette, but this eyeshadow look doesn't look as blended and seamless as her other looks! I think eyeshadow is the one thing you should spend good money on just because palettes last a long time and the drugstore has a difficult time getting eyeshadows right! Still love the look though 😊
I'm actually pretty impressed with the look of it for it to only be a $10 palette - and matte at that. But I agree, eyeshadow is something you should always splurge on for the sake of quality. I just ordered the palette though because it's cheap and doesn't look to be of bad quality, perfect for traveling and I won't be booty bothered if the shadows get busted up.
Maybelline has great pigmented shadows. Will every drugstore brand have great shadows, no. But there are young girls and college students who cannot afford a 50.00 palette. This was a great tutorial.. 😊
I love her look but I definitely agree on investing in highend eyeshadows I basically use all drugstore everything else but not really eyeshadows I always buy highend they are the best and packaging is always on point and last like you said!! 👍👌
+angelina angelino you put some coconut oil in your mouth and swish it around like you would mouth wash, don't swallow it, for like 10-15 minutes and then spit it out. And I think you have to do it like 2-3 times a week to see long lasting results. Sounds gross but it apparently works wonders for ppl who wanna whiten their teeth. And if u like the taste of coconut, it doubles as a mouthwash too lol.
You should use medical tape, im not sure the exact name of it but its super gentle and works way better than any other tape for your makeup. Look in the first aid area at the drug store. And make sure you buy the medical tape thats ment to go on skin. ☺

Drugstore video idea! People always make drugstore/affordable videos, but they use so many products it ends up adding up. You should challenge yourself to a drugstore video with a budget. Like a full look for $50 including everything.
I made a video on that! Back to school look but very affordable I buy all my drugstore makeup at CVS bc when you sign up for emails you get a 30% off coupon every week!
I usually don't post comments on RU-vid videos, but in this case I had to. You are honestly one of my favorite make up youtubers because you are just different, you don't have the whole conceited poses ( duck lips, flirty eyes trying to look like a model posing for a photo) and I honestly appreciate someone who actually looks real in this beauty world of RU-vid! Keep it up!
I think you should stop using that post shave balm as a primer! A tonnn of people have been saying that it makes your makeup sink into your pores and is really bad for your skin
My Skin breaks out like crazy when I use it as a primer. I had to stop using it...and btw it smells soooo strong 🙈🤔 Good to know that I'm not the only one... 😏
i had the same exact situation with my skin when I was changing my diet so i have pretty much the same skin type dry and sensitive and had rarely rarely breakouts and when i was reacting weird to a product the texture of my skin got very weird then when i changed my diet last summer and ate mostly vegan and a lot of raw food my forehead broke out and slowly my cheeks as well bc I always had good skin I did not know how to handle it ( I tried everything but it wash`t going away even after months)so I went to a dermatologist and she was giving me a benzoylperoxide cream that I should be using and it really worked and my skin was getting back to normal again I know these creams might not be the most natural and most gentle methods but now my skin has finally cleared up hope I maybe could help a bit
+KathleenLights are you still using the rms beauty un powder? That stuff broke me out. stopped using it and my face cleared up. I am no professional but that looks more like bumps from an alergic reaction than pimples from a break out.
+Rosa Garcia an alergic reaction to something you put on your face not to what you eat. Sometimes doctors are wrong. My son broke out in hives and the doctor said that it wasn't an allergic reaction to anything yet as soon as I stopped using a baby powder he got better. Just my thought. 😊
+KathleenLights I also have skin on the dry side & never broke out. About a year ago I started having random breakouts & I eventually saw a dermatologist. I was prescribed Minocin orally & Metro cream topically- my face was completely clear within a week. Once everything cleared, I stopped the cream & continued the Minocin for a couple of weeks just to be safe. I haven't had any issues since then, & now I keep my skincare routine as simple as possible. Dermatologist recommended cleansing w/ Cetaphil & I use it w/ my clarisonic. Hope this helps!
+KathleenLights we have exactly the same skin type and I went through this skin purging situation for like 3 months. my dermatologist couldn't spot anything and told me it will subside on its own. don't use any harsh products to clean it up. the Aztec clay mask will make it worse so I suggest stay away from it for a while. use vitamin C serum. it helps the skin heal faster. and keep the skin moisturised with vitamin C cream. i also mix 1-2 drops of josie Maran Argan Oil in my night cream before applying it. also, try using 100% organic tea tree oil on acne (on a q tip just apply it directly) 2 times a day. it dries the zits faster, like overnight. all this helped me a lot. if you experience a zit popping up from within the skin, start applying the tea tree oil on it. it will dissolve the gunk and won't let the pimple surface and turn into that big white lesion. I stopped using chemical acne treatments and that helped the healing process a lot. have fish oil supplement too. it helps in neutralising acidity & inflammation in the body and helps the skin clean up inside out.

I feel like it's counter productive when I use a good cool toned contour powder and then use a bronzer over it, it just does the opposite of what I'm trying to achieve making "shadows" on the cheekbone bc it just blends with the contour powder and makes it look too warm. Anyone else? Lol
Bronzers look best over the cheeks and a bit in the actual cheekbone, then contour is just meant for the cheekbone to carve it out. They look really nice together. Bronzer is just to add color and it comes in handy also for your blush to melt into the contour also. I find it looks best altogether :)
Yes I agree I actually only use bronzer across my forehead and then I use a grey toned contour to carve out my cheekbones and jawline. I have very fair cool toned skin.
Contour goes ever so slightly below the actual cheekbone to create a shadow. Bronzer would technically go slightly above the contour, along your cheek. It has to do with how light hits your face
Try using a much bigger brush for the bronzer and putting it on the actual cheekbone above your contour rather than in the hollow if that makes any sense? That's what works for me!
I agree, bronzer shouldn't go directly over your contour. It'll just make your contour look like an orange stripe. You're supposed to place to above the contour to help your blush and/or highlight blend and to make everything look more natural.

lady rodriguez Glycerin is in a lot of products including hair products and food products. That doesn't mean that everything that has glycerin in it, you should use it on your face as a makeup primer.

I left dairy for months, before I do; my skin was clear. After I left it (for months), it broke out ALOT and would never clear. I think dairy is healthy if you don't eat too much of it.
***** I actually did cut it because I have ulcerative colitis; Then I realized it only bothers me during a flare. When I'm not flaring it's okay if I'm eating a moderate amount/ drinking lots of water after it ( because it can give me sinus infections which is the worst thing evaaaar, but water helps alot).
