I've been wanting to make my own 3kHz calibration tapes for some time now, and after finding out that my reference tape isn't so good anymore I decided now is as good a time as any.
I currently have four direct drive cassette decks in operating condition, two of them quartz lock, and I want to definitively be able to point at one specific unit and say, "That's the best one for the job." All four will make one tape each, and all four will check each others' results to obtain the data needed to determine this.
