This is something I have always wanted to do. I think I am going to actually try it out. I made some simple crank bait bodies out of pine once and I think I may tinker with those to start! Thanks for the inspiration!
It's fascinating to hear all of the things you listen to while you're making these baits. I feel like the most important thing you listen to is probably the heater.
Hola yo tengo tiempo siguiendo tu buen trabajo y e fabricado algunos como tú los haces yo soy de Mexicali baja California saludos y felicidades por tu gran trabajo.
Please get a set of exacto knifs. The small triangular blade i think it is #11 you can buy in packs of 100's. So when they go dull you can change them quickly. Your hand will appreciate the purchase in your detail carvings.
Beautiful bait. If you're still think how to make lippless bait try positioning ring just before its hunch (like on your drawing) much farther from its nose. And maybe you need to add more lead (weight). In my country there is a lot of people making them from bath (sealant) silicone and they are cheap (1,5-3€). And those lures much smaler than yours by body size are 20-30 grams heavy. Try to search word "glavinjara" on the internet to see how they look like.
Hey boss! Could you reveal what that powder was that you mixed in with your 2 part resin? I noticed when I use the resin it has some surface bubbling and overall inconsistencies. Looks like when you used that powder it was silky smooth and didn’t require a bunch of sanding and looked great right out of the mold. Keep up the awesome work!
Thank you! It depends on how bouyant the body is, and what sink rate you want, the amount and location of weight added is a very important step. It almost always trial and error, and you’ll wana take your time.
Great work as always. I’ve been getting into lure making myself and was wondering what size stainless wire you are using and where you order it from? Also the final coat you put on the lures, is that polyurethane as well or do you use glaze coat?
Thank you! I get my wire from ebay. They have a pretty good selection there. I’ll use anywhere from .041-.061” dia. S.S. wire. For the clear coat I’ll eithere use a 30 min. or envirotex lite depending on the lure
I love the body shape, very rounded... much like the original Rattle-traps. (Which just SUCK now! Idk what they started doing to those things, but there's barely any action. Used to be way better.)
It's a pretty light isn't ? I have only done few baits so far, have used oak and ceder. Any reason you prefer using poplar? What you do is more then just lure building it's art. Really getting in to carving so your videos has been a great help so far :) Thank you for the response
KawaiCruzin 22 From his previous replies I've seen, it looks like he uses poplar. But I watched a newer video of his (chipmunk) & he used mahogany. I probably butchered the spelling
why chisel the waste away from the fins after you cut them out with the saw? why not cut back into it 90 degrees to the first cut with the saw and then sand?

C'est un truc de fou la qualité de ton travail tu en vend ? Sa m'intéresse l'ami
That thing is super sexy!! Out of curiosity, how much would you sell those lures in particular for? Asking for a friend lol, I can see pike going ham on those dudes. Killer job bro!!
Gunna have to wait till the ice is off of my waters for that, but I have thought an awful lot about making fishing vlogs along with the lure making vidoes.
How I support the channel if your out of stock! I could just give you money but... your doing what you love so I don’t want to cheapen it up like prostitution! This is a family show right?
