When you watch most videos that are almost 30 minutes long you Are just skipping through the boring parts. But here??? Everything is such interesting. Thumbs up man for all the work you put to actually build just one bait.
This is amazing You are truly talented that duckling looked so realistic. And you are such a chill person with a good personality. Keep up these great videos👍
Your videos are instructive and relaxing and funny...sometimes I watch just before bed; cause you are down to earth and you remind me that there are good people in the world. Be yourself and make vids for the next 20 years. Happy, 2031!!
Honestly I have been watching your videos long before I decided to subscribe to your channel but I am impressed by how I see your improvement and your air brush skills are getting much better keep up the good work boss man I look forward to seeing your videos pop up in my notifications my one year old loves watching your videos with me too
Just a little suggestion about a new cheap tool you may find really, really, useful for your carving out work. There are 2 special little knives that craftsmen who carve wooden spoons use. One is a very short, sharp, pointed knife, the other is a special curved over, rounded, blade used to scoop out small slithers of wood, in a dome/rounded shape. They are available of course on Amazon - just type in spoon carving knives and several sets will come up, ranging in price from about $15 up to about $40, depending who you buy them from, and the quality you desire. I hope this helps as they would definitely help with some of the more awkward areas you carve. Another very interesting video with lots of woodworking tips and tricks, which is my main reason for watching your channel, apart from them being very entertaining. The dog did an awesome job of supervising the entire project as well.
Nice job as usual, this should work for pike but reel it slower and let it sit for a few seconds than reel again slowly. Thanks for sharing my friend. Your Florida friend.
The dog looks so real , I mean the way it moves, so natural , amazing. Now, needlefish for stripers? When you drill a bait for tuning, drill the fill hole and at the bottom leave a groove that will also lock the molten lead in its own recess, I guess. No needlefish? We don’t know what we’re missing. Or I haven’t seen your needlefish video. Nice work. PS, thanks for thanking 👍🏻
I feel like it might be easier to make some of the details with a rough file and good set of fine files file rather than with hobby razor or chisel especially on the head and beak or before you sand. If you don't have any you can always spray glue some sand paper to some popsicle sticks or even use dollar store/bulk emery boards. Also a safer alternative to holding a small piece while you drill it in the drill press is to use some thing flexible like a bag of beans or rice so you can position it at the angle you want it and it is supported better. I"m also hoping to see a dragonfly lure if you havn't made one already, for insects you can loop the strings at slightly different lengths to get a more defined wing shape. keep up the good work, love the craftsmanship!
Yes I'm now glad in a subscriber love you music choice you listen to stuff no ones probably heard of steel driver Tyler Childers and very humble to thank everyone keep it buddy keep it up
I remember when I was a back in the 80s a few of the few muskie fisherman would buy baby ducks at the flea market. They'd attach treble hooks with rubber bands and let the ducks swim around muskie area's in the local river. Imagine doing that now
You can sharpen drill bits on a belt or disk sander when they break for a quick temporary fix. Excellent video and work as per usual mate. Keep at it!!!
Airgun Evolution No it doesn’t . Most predatory fishes when hunting other fishes usually waits on the bottom looking up so they mostly see a white belly or a shadow passing by before striking depending how clear the water is.
Just watched several of your videos where you add baking soda to CA glue and epoxy. I've been wood working for years but have never heard of or seen anyone add baking soda to CA glue or epoxy. What purpose does the baking soda serve? P.S. It would make me a lot less nervous watching this if you were using actual wood carving tools. I enjoy your channel, keep up the good work.
There was an old school duckling lure that used two Colorado blades for feet, Underspin style. Paint the blades in the foot color, and maybe try your hand at making a matching duckling call. (if there is such a thing) It would be cool to display as a conversation piece in any Mancave.
IMHO you produce works of art. They are artifacts of your site history. They inspire people to create instead of just consume. And they push the boundaries of what's possible in lure making. So you're basically "raging against the machine" in a positive way. Excellent work my friend!
Great lures & entertaining videos. Have you ever considered a wood burner for your detail lines? They make a wide variety of very clean lines and look great when painted.
Have you ever thought about making a frog buzz bait lure out of wood? Basically a two piece lure where the legs act like a propeler. And the weight would be in the front.
Love your vids! They make me want to take my woodworking hobby into lure making! Have you tried a duckling, but with the buzz blade and hook switched? You could do a 90 degree bend down and back and have the buzz blade spinning right where the feet would be kicking for ultra realism and then it might help the hook up ratio with the hook trailing the duckling. Just a thought. If you've tried it this way, let me know how it went!
