When I was a kid, in the early 1950s, my mom had a friend, Helen Corwin, who was a leather maker. Helen made everything from gloves and boots to belts, chaps, saddles, bridles, etc. if it was made of leather, she made it. Her trademark was “Corwin Maker.” She worked out of her living room and the house smelled so good!
This boys and girls is why high end custom holsters are costly. I'm just a amateur, so I can make my own, but I learned more than a few things from this vid. Thanks for making the vid hoss. Excellent high end holster.
I was captivated watching you creating this work of art, AWESOME! The intense patience and ability you have makes me hungry to learn more about this trade. You are a MASTER at this.
Have always been amazed at leather craft. The tooling and methods are amazing. Your skill is amazing. Great holster and great job. Your customers get what they are paying for...
I love finely crafted leather products for my knives and handguns. Watching the vid I think you probably don't charge enough! Just outstanding to say the least. stay safe
Have watched this 3 times. Can’t help it. I love watching a craftsman at work. I guess I’m hoping I’ll absorb some of your skills through osmosis, just watching.
It’s nice to see an artisan like yourself making something beautiful the proper way. That holster will be around for centuries. (With enough neatsfoot…;)
Phenomenal craftsmanship!! Wasnt expecting the last few steps you did, the glue on the thread is genius! Hand stitching, applying the thinner leather for the edge and the end cap (muzzle end), excellent job!
Another great video! Beautiful holster!Thank you, I’m a huge fan of your work. It is good to see I’m not the only one making holsters on Memorial weekend. Thanks from Oklahoma!
I built a 16" Bowie with a large S-curve guard, my first. And I'm kinda stuck in the design stage on the sheath. This video didn't help that, hehe. But after watching you make this holster. You've certainly earned my respect. I've gotten most of the tools and materials together. But I'm just not exactly sure what I want yet. It's guys like you that make it a challenge for guys like me. Thank you.
Well my friend I’ve got to give you a compliment! For it is due ! 👍 And you are most worthy of it, what a beautiful piece of work! Congratulations on your piece of art ! Good job 👏 You see when I was much younger I too worked the leather and it has truly never left my heart ❤️ ! However I have to many other challenges to deal with in this life to have stayed with it. I will continue to watch you work my friend! Thanks
Just a heads up: The above is a scam. Someone copied and pasted my thumbnail and is replying to comments pretending to be me. (Obviously it's not). Needless to say do not respond to it!
OMG, you are a true master of your craft. Absolutely awesome skills. I’m new to leather crafting, during CoVid lockdowns. But having seen this I’m unsure whether to carry on with my new hobby and be inspired by your work or just be realistic, get my coat and leave the party 🤩
@@RoadAgentLeather ive been making a few leather things here and there for a few years, and i learned more watching this video than i have in 6 months!
Nice trick with the needle and drill press . I use My tippmann boss without thread to layout holes for hand stitching in a similar fashion as I love Ritza tiger thread .
