Nice table, the base is very interesting. To give it a more solid and durable grip, I would attach the cork table top to the base using Hillman 1/4-in x 20 Brass Wood Insert Nuts, it sells for $2.98 (2 count) at Lowes (hardware store in the US). Also, painting it black looks nice, but it hides cork's natural beauty and texture.
Thanks Guachum. All valid. Just a note on the black though; it is a oil stain rather than a paint so you do retain the texture of the cork which came out nicely.
