it’s so comforting to watch a video like this with someone saying “it’s not perfect, it’s my first time” because i get easily put off by instructional videos lol
I love to hear that! I have such a love-hate relationship with instuctional videos myself that I'd much rather make something someone might enjoy watching and hopefully learn tidbits here and there along with me as I am still learning instead of making a full on hardcore instructional video. This is how i learned to sew 60 yrs ago. However many 'perfect' videos we may watch, the best teacher is experience and learning from your mistakes. You did an amazing job considering. It takes courage, faith and belief in yourself. Well done. I love it!
@@birtarnb absolutely! I hand sew, machine sew, knit and make felted items. The benefit of hand sewing and knitting, is that you can sit and do it anywhere. Bless you and I look forward to watching you progress.
when I'm working with a curtain or tablecloth (I'm currently making a purse with matching coin purse :D) I try and use the already sewn edge. That just makes it 5 times easier in my estimation! I've been searching for WEEKS on a good pattern for a pinafore dress :)
That is such a good idea and would 100% save a lot of time if you are not doing any pattern-matching or anything like that! I'd love to see your purse+coin purse combo! It sounds like a cute idea! I wear pinafore dresses all the time, I make the straight ones as I don't have a waist so mine are like a shift dresss, super comfortable and I wear t shirts underneath them , I have denim ones , linen ones cotton ones and a silk one for best going out somewhere special occasion, well done to you, did a good job 👍🙏
Thank you Hazel (beautiful name btw!) I am new to sewing and wish I could wear straight dresses/dhifts as my ass kinda makes sewing a little more difficult for me 😅 I'd love to have a collection of pinafore dresses, slowly getting there!
I'm still watching the video but I subscribed when I saw the rabbits. I have 3 bunnies and one of them also loves to help me sew by digging in the fabric.

They are stubborn little beings and VERY helpful with their digging and biting at the fabric 😅 Unfortunately my main helper (the black and white one called Kalli) passed away last summer so we still have Georg and now also a Flemish Giant called Gunnar, I have made them some stuff so if you like bunny and sewing content you can check those videos out! @@birtarnb Aw I'm sorry to hear bout Kalli :( Let me just say I love the names you have given your bunnies! I originally started sewing just to make the famous bunny pillow that is way too expensive to ship to my country :,-) My bunnies are Willi, Olli and Nelli, all adopted boys so their ages are a mystery!

Thank you so much for sharing this! I’ve been wanting to make one but I have never seen any clothing but this really inspired me to try and be ok with making mistakes. It turned out amazing. I think I will do 3 panels so the seams are on the sides & I can add pockets to it because I mean I love pockets! 🤣
