Tbh I’ve only seen twice where the borrowed dresses actually looked halfway decent & not totally like a middle schooler made it in home economics & even the two times they looked half decent they still had some weird skewed looking pieces like a tiny tutu sized skirt that had 3 layers.

My sister and I had the same parents but people didn’t even realize that we were sisters. Neither of us looked like our mother so we never knew who we really looked like. I had my father’s nose and sister got our dad’s blonde hair, but we both got his dimples. My son got the same nose and dimples.

Idk. I used to think the same but after speaking with a lot of couples, I have changed my mind. Some of them that had really unhappy marriages but chose to stay were able to work through those issues. They now tell me how happy they are and glad they didn't give up. Even after divorce, a lot of people are not happy plus the chances of making a subsequent marriage work is much lower.

After ten years, my partner and I had some of those moments, do we keep fighting to make this right, or is this something toxic. We kept fighting. It was the right decision for us, but being faced with that very real question, I can't conceive of a blanket answer. If things were just a little bit different, I don't know if staying together would have been the right thing. I think letting a relationship end, even a marriage, when it needs to, is often the right thing. But fighting to make it work can also be the right thing. Guess I'm just saying, no shade on divorce. You CAN say "I love you, and appreciate you, but this just doesn't work anymore." And that's ok.

Rosemarie Collins Compared to the borrowed one, which looked like someone wrapped up a plastic bag and some tissue paper, the new one was better. The way it hugs her body was flattering, even though it looks like my tulle curtains lol.

Agreed, I thought the same thing. I wonder if the seamstress could've bleached it a little, maybe in water with bleach so it doesn't harm the material. it was an applique, so it should 've been possible. It did stick out like a sore thumb and made the back tacky in a sense. Would've been better to bleach it and add it to the bodice in small amounts

lola cruz unfortunately people don't know that bleaching can turn some Fabrics yellow and a lot of times especially like what the applique was on probably a synthetic knit material it would have turned yellow. The best thing we ever found that whitens things that had turned yellow or become dirty from use when it came to formal white gowns was the wall light you soaked it in the Woolite original product and you just kept watching it and once it turned white you rinsed it out very well and it would not harm the material that's about the best thing we ever found bleach decays the material of anything it touches and you have to use professional bleach stopper there is a product out there but it's very difficult to get a hold of that stops the bleaching process when they make all these jeans that look like they're old and bleached out and stuff they use that chemically bleach but the minute they put them in for that rinse they put that product in with it to stop the bleaching process or the jeans would fall apart,

ashersakasha she picked her mom's dress really I loved the other one way better it looked way better than her mom's dress I'm sorry but her mom's dress looks crappy

So glad she chose the borrowed dress. She look movie star gorgeous in it. She probably found a replica of the new dress on Amazon and ordered it for the reception. It looked like a dime a dozen type of dress. Nothing too special about the new dress.

Yeah a lot of times it has to do with greed or sexy I've seen quite a few of these and the remade dress has been better than the one they got from the bridal shop I am not kidding you. I'm beginning to wonder if some of the girls do this as a way to get a free dress, and they don't care if their mothers dress gets cut up, they never wanted to wear it anyway, and this way they can say sorry me, ma, other guess was just so good, how could it compete against that dress and I have an excuse. But what's sad is the one from the bridal shop is copied all over the world. So some other girl unless you had it custom made, and they're not getting you a custom made dress, you're getting the one exactly that is there. and all they did was get it in your size and I bet that you had to pick one from a bridal shop that what was there was what you got if it fit you then, that you could walk out the door that day with it and it was under their budget that they give you. Most of those dresses just looked like bleak on the girls, and they are not as good as the remade dress. There was one I could have kicked that girl, I would have been so angry with her, the dress was remade beautifully, and what was worse is that they really took into consideration all of the history, and she still went for the new one did not look half as good.

Well there was an episode like it was the grandma's dress or something and she rejected it , the dress was like from the 1940s (I could be mis-remembering) but I saw one where the older gown was gorgeous and the girl still didn't like it, my heart sank!

lola cruz yeah I think I remember that one too and you know what I think sometimes these girls do it just so they can get the dress they want and they don't have to really tell Mom know cuz the rework might not be that great but this one was awesome it was beautiful it was nicer than the dress she bought hey Beyond I mean that $850 that lady quoted that's a $2,000 dress in the UK
