I concur. That dress was unique, beautiful and it made a statement. I cant imagine choosing a cookie cutter, modern monstrosity over that work of art.

I’m in love with it

My mother kept her gorgeous dress until after my first of us 4 daughters got married. My 1st sister was 5 ft tall like mom. I was asking mom for her dress to see what I could do with it..she had cut it up into pieces with 3 daughters left. Her only explanation was the rest of us were taller so she figured we'd not want it. It was from the 50s. I was sad to not have a chance at it. I suspect my 1st sister said something about not wanting an old dress that upset her. Sad.

@@joywebster2678 my mom had her wedding dress in a preservation box all my life with only the tiniest window to see a small square of it. My sisters and I were always fascinated to know what it looked like because there were hardly any pictures from our parents wedding. My one sister and I got married within 5 months of each other and our mom finally opened the box to reveal her wedding dress. We both tried it on, but it wasn't our style. After the chaoss of both weddings, I asked to see the dress again and my mom informed me that since my sister and I didn't want it she donated it to a thrift store! I was so upset. She's not sentimental at all, but I am! All I can think of is someone probably bought it to be a Halloween costume and it's been long thrown away. All of those years of waiting to see it, getting one night to see it, and that's it. So sad 💔

Why did they do her mom's dress ? Now it's all changed and nobody will see it.. It's a shame... you don't touch a dress and not wear it !! 😢

definitely, it's a shame she didn't choose it since the something new is way more red carpet than one of a kind bridal. maybe if they had blinged out the top some more she would've gone for it.

we saw it in say yes to the dress many times, they only stuck some pieces of lace on the skirt

like they said, she cut the lace into strips and layered them with strips of tulle & organza to make the swirls.

In Pakistan the bridal dress is from the in laws... So is the reception dress .. most of the times.

@@MsLovestory01 my parents had the same story. my mother lived in europe and my father worked in the garment center. he bought her the gown. it was a gorgeous classic gown. they're both gone now but I wish I could ask them more questions about that now.
