I would’ve left the little holes and put LED directional lights. Fire work tho.

Looks like you did a series of tack welds, was that to keep warping down? Why did you use the hammer to make the bends and not the break?

Yes, its better to tack everything first before you fully weld it in. It keeps things from moving as much. And I had to use the hammer to make the 2 side bends because once I made that first bend it wouldnt fit in the brake anymore. Only if I had a finger brake that would work.

I mean when you fully welded it in, I understand the tacks to hold it in place, but it looked like you did tack after tack all the way down the panel. I might be wrong, but was wondering if you did that for warpage. I realize the last bend without the fingers would hit just thought you would do the 2 bends that you could do, amd get as far as you could with the last and finish it off with the mallet. Either way, it came out great looking. Looking forward to the install video. I have a '74 Dodge D100 that I'll be doing this with as well

Ah yes, In the video it doesn’t really show how I welded it in but I did jump around and make small weld passes. Not exactly tack after tack but around an inch or so at a time. It did help with warpage. And you’re right, I could of started the 2 last bends with the brake and then ended with the mallet but most people don’t have a brake so I figured it would be good to show how to do it both ways from the start. Hopefully the install video will be done soon, I got an awesome deal on a finger brake that recently I’ve been making a stand for but once that’s done I’ll be back to work on the ranger. Good luck with your d100 tho, I’m sure it will turn out great
