In early March 2021 I was messaged on Facebook by a mother who wanted a dream princess bed for her young daughter and newborn. She sent me a photo from a magazine and I did my best to put a design together in CAD. I estimated a budget (materials was close but labor was way off) and got started from there. I've been woodworking since birth yet I have never taken on a project like this, or even close. I had just gotten a CNC machine however and was excited to have a project to use it on. After 6 weeks of nonstop work and problem solving, I got it done. Completly burned out and stressed, but looking back (I was in my last semester of college), at no point in my life will I have the time and energy to do such a project, and I'm glad I did it. I bought materials at Menards and my local domestic hardwood lumber yard (the sides are 5x5 baltic birch plywood) with a few other places used in between. In this video you'll see me condense 6 weeks of work down to under 10 minutes. It goes fast, but I hope you can still get a feel for how I did certain parts of the project. Thanks.
