Those who sew eventually come to respect Mr James as the pinnacle of the craft! This is an outstanding reproduction, I hope you have a million occasions to enjoy it ❤️
Not only is your dressmaking gorgeous, but your filming / editing skills are impressive as well ! I love how you show us the extent of work that goes into such a beautiful piece, and I hope you will find time and interest in the future to do more videos, this is just stunning and a very lovely video to watch !
Oh thank you! this is actually the first video I made, so it is amazing to hear that you liked the video! and I really loved to do it, so I'm sure, there will be more videos:)
the magic of the youtube algorithm brought me here, and i’m so glad! what a fantastic first video, it’s clear that you’re very experienced and talented. (also, the explanations are clear - love the bit about the understructures, people really don’t talk about that aspect of couture-style dressmaking enough - and the editing is very soothing). looking forward to seeing more of your work!
I follow a lot of crafty persons, but seeing someone work so professionally and tidy really is a big change! I love how much thought and care you put into each of your steps - it motivates me to get better at sewing, too. Thank you for sharing your process!
The dress is beautiful. I absolutely love watching your channel. You are easy to listen to and direct. You inspire me to make my gown for my daughter’s sweet 16.
absolutely. but i'm still confused on the "petticoat" fabric of the structure piece. can anyone tell what might be? just how stiff it is...a crinoline? a nylon? thank you
I held my breath in awe watching you work on the boning and the underlayer. I especially love how you omitted the waist seam, as the vertical seams accentuate the shape of the waist without the distraction of the horizontal line in the original. Gorgeous!!!
The dress is amazing, the video editing is superb! I’m really glad you shared the process and that we can appreciate it! Can’t wait to see the next videos!
I'm so excited you decided to show us more of your work through video, thank you so much! I absolutely love the stays you created for shaping the dress underneath - the curved flow of the seam lines through the waist into the hip flair is so beautiful. I would absolutely love it if you continued to make these videos.
I love this!!! Thank you so much for this look at your work process, I love learning about all the thoughts hidden behind the result and why you chose to do things a certain way.😍
As a rookie at sewing she makes the most difficult and complicated things about garment making so calm and relaxing.😅❤ This is probably one of the best channels I found,I literally had a tear when she revealed that finished piece of art.
Frieda, thank you for your beautiful videos, you have such good taste and style. I would love to have a dress made by you. You have such attention to detail and perfect technique. I love watching your videos and listening to you talk about your craft. I am looking forward to watching many more of your videos and hopefully having an excuse to have you make me a garment with your talented touch one day. I am learning to make my own clothes and watching you is inspiring. Your videos are soothing, peaceful and elegant- much like your designs. I especially like the dress you made for your mother. Wishing you joy and success in all your endeavours. Bless you.
Charles James is my favorite designer. Red is my favorite color. I love historic costume. And I’m a sucker for nice velvet. This hit every mark for me and was exceptionally well filmed. Such a beautiful thing to watch.
I admire your work and craftsmanship and am really thankful you could share this with the world. I’ve always loved seeing the pictures of in-progress dresses you have posted and was thrilled when I learned of this video. I look forward to learning more from you! ❤️ I am really curious about your schooling experience and what you thought of the Ausbildung process in Germany. If you ever make a video about that I would love to watch it!
Oh thank you! I'm so happy that you came here from instagram! The reason I made the video is because I got asked there to give more detailed insights so these means a lot to me... And to make a video about my background would be a good idea, I think this has to be done one day:)
I was looking forward to this video since you announced it on instagram and I enjoyed it a lot! I really liked how you showed the different steps an how they all come together. I find it inspiring seeing what techniques other people use. Also really liked the tips on working with velvet and the magic of arranging the fabric so that it shifts in the right place in the end! :D Looking forward to see more on your channel
The dress is so beautiful and looks so comfortable to wear. Like something that grew up around your body and molded itself to you. Wonderful craftsmanship.
I love your work so much. I hope to the heavens you continue to upload. Not only are your pieces absolutely stunning and your attention to detail remarkable, the way you talk through your process is so calming. I literally listen to your videos to go to sleep, and build the dresses in my head as you speak 😌🤍
Found you yesterday, and subscribed. Your work is absolutely stunningly beautiful. Your videos are relaxing and soothing, whilst being informative and educational. Looking forward to seeing what is next.
Amazing video quality. Stunning dress. Please make more videos! I would love to see more of your pattern drafting techniques and how you refine a mockup.
I´m trying to decide whither I´m inspired to sew or too intimidated to try ... so accurate, everything sits perfectly! Maybe if I strive for this care with a MUCH simpler pattern ...
It's amazing that you did that video, I was wondering for so long how did you make that dress and I'm so glad I can now see the whole proccess. Can't wait for the next videos!
Je vous découvre après avoir vu la merveilleuse robe nuit et perles… cette robe de velours rouge est incroyable tant dans sa fabrication que son résultat 🤩… et ce montage vidéo est absolument remarquable !! Merci ! Vous avez une nouvelle abonnée 🥰 🌸🌸🌸
This dress is absolutely stunning. I follow quite a few sewing channels but I ever seen such work. The hem finishes and the immaculate and detailed construction, it's something else.
This video brought me to tears (almost). I’m in awe of the dress because I love that kind of style - it’s so beautiful ❤. And see the progress of it, it wonderful to witness that; this video put me in safe, calming space base on the vibe she portrayed. In other word, I absolutely love this video; you did amazing job.❤
I'm so happy you are making videos, I've been following you on Facebook and then Instagram for years now ! The corset dress with the stars made me fall in love with your work ! Thank you for the video !
Frieda, stunning work, you have a good sense of what music will work with your voice overs and the camera work is delicious! Thank you, thank you for all the work your put into this and welcome!
such a pretty dress!! your video reminds me so much of the SAVOIR FAIRE video of the making of the red Dior coat dress! looking forward to more content from you thanks for sharing.
This video is as much a work of art as the dress - well done! I love that all the fabric was in your stash. That is one impressive fabric stash to have several meters of a rich velvet.. I dream (and drool) of having such a stash. I don’t dare dream of having your design talent.. again, well done!
Omg, why am I crying at the end?! I'm literally in tears. The reveal simply got me too emotional. Incredible work lady. Do you have a petty coat underneath? Mind blown when you explained you pinned slightly off the line to counterbalance for the velvet natural shift. Next level, my god!!!
