making a drive belt from rope 

Came across your video looking for a solution to making a belt for a 1913 electro dental compressor. I cut a pattern out of a flat nylon ratchet strap using your technique and then welded the ends together. It worked!!! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!!!! From USA.

Learn how to make a long splice in a rope. A long splice has strands thinned out to keep the rope the same thickness.
