Making a Fiber Art Doll, Cora of the Meadows 🌿 My new-found love for flat-fell seams [SUB]

Today I take you on the journey of making my little Cora, a natural fiber art doll made in my Mannikin doll-style. She is a wool sculpture over an inner armature, that allows her to be posed and is very playful. Cora's wardrobe is truly a vision and I am so darn happy with how everything came out. I hope you enjoy watching this little video.

I am with you on the hand sewing! A couple of years ago I brought my sewing machine on vacation but I forgot the cord! So I made the dress entirely by hand. It was the most relaxing holiday. I learned to do that when I was at school as a child with the nuns, they taught us absolutely everything we needed to know to be a homemaker, also knitting, embroidery, crochet, and cooking of course. I still make my béchamel the way I learned it 70 years ago!

That's so lovely Gina, thank you for sharing with me 🥰 I taught my girls to knit, embroider and to sew a little bit. They haven't showed much interest yet but I am confident if they need it, they will find a way!

@@Figandme that's the point isn't it, to have the ability to use it if you need or want to. But to not be able to sew on a button is unimaginable. I'm 82 years old and I could knit a pair of socks if I wanted to, just give me the pattern and I will follow it.

Solo se deben lavar por encima, no sumergirse al agua por completo. Como son de tela y de lana, si se pueden lavar por encimita.

Yes I do. I made her as a custom order, as I stated in the video, but every now and then I make doll available for sale.
