This is the third video of my Kempense Veken project. A "Kempense Veken" is a traditional old style of gate used for farms and fields. The style I'll be making is the "laying tree" style. The gate is made from a downed tree, idealy with its rootball still attached. The tree is balanced on a central pivoting post with the gate on one end and the rootball (or other counterweight) on the other end. In this video I finish all of the debarking and explain the next steps to be taken. Make sure to subscribe if you'd like to follow along with this project.
