I know I say this every time, but the video itself is very well made and so much fun to watch. The dramatic intro made me giggle 😂 I think it was fun watching you create this gorgeous doll stand 😍. You don’t have to re-paint a doll every time 👍
Thank you! I know the dolls are the real excitement though. Unfortunately, I make super complicated dolls! Haha! But I do strive to make the videos fun. 🥰
I really like seeing these doll-adjacent videos too. Making custom stands, especially when it is a themed diorama type stand, is just as interesting to me as the dolls. It’s all part of the same hobby, in my opinion.
@@SpookyDollLady We put it in a Tupperware bin and ran it under water while mixing it around until the water running off was clear. Since the sand is heavier than the dust, it stays underwater, but the dust mixes with it and washes away. Kinda like when you rinse a carbon packet for a fish tank until the water runs clear. :)
Love to stand!! It fits Nerissa perfectly 🥰 and goes well with her being the ruler of an underwater Kingdom. P.S. Always love the scenery of the lost city of Atlantis or the pictures I've seen of it
I’ve always been infatuated with Atlantis too. I *think* it’s because the ocean is SO BIG that it could be possible. An entire civilization lost to time and water. It’s both beautiful and spooky!
They don’t seem to be popular with viewers, so I don’t think it gets seen very often. However, I started my crafting hobbies with dollhouse furniture, so I’ll probably continue to make things like this.
I found you on Instagram, and I really wanted the more cohesive experience of RU-vid for your videos, and after digging deeper into your videos, and finding out your wife's story my heart just melted. I love your content, and you guys are just wonderful ❤️
🥹🥹🥹 First, thank you! I was a little scared to release that kind of info in this setting in case it scared people away. So I’m grateful to hear when people like hearing about it. 🥰 And thank you for coming over from Instagram! I’ll be sharing this video over there soon, but I agree, it’s much more pleasant to see it all in one setting. 😅
@@DollyPop honestly I understand where you're coming from on being scared about sharing something personal like that, especially in this world. But by sharing, you make the better people stay, and give people hope. Helps people believe that who they are is worth someone's love. I can't wait to see what you two come up with next ❤️
Encore! Encore! Encore!!!! I never thought making a scenery would be so fun to watch but your personality makes it really enjoyable so I would love to see more 🎉
YOU NEVER STOP AMAZING ME with your work and creativity and your wife s contributions only add to what was already amazing to complete the process full circle... please do some more dioramas on your channel i belive they are inspiring to so many others out there... me included!!!! great stuff as per usual!!!
Finally found the time to watch this! Love this so so much! The stand is beautiful and super creative, the paintwork is also absolutely beautiful. You did a phenomenal job! Great video, doesn't have to be a doll every time this is great content as well, and good luck on the more complex doll you're working on! Can't wait to see that whenever you manage to finish it! Also such a fun amusing intro. Xxxx!
I’m glad you got to watch! I feel like during the summer months folks are so busy, so I’m happy that you carved out a bit of time for me. 🥰 I did try to make this one short for that reason. 😅
I really enjoy watching videos of making dioramas (actually I'm kind of obsessed with it these days lol) so I'd really like to see you making more dioramas, maybe it would be nice to post them between your doll videos? 🥰
Elizabeth this is so incredible!!!! I love your videos!! I always always learn something I can use and/or try. I really liked the black wash...I want to try that on one of my hutches after it as been crackled. Thank you as always for sharing your process with us!! 💜💜💜💜
@@DollyPop I will watch that! I have two hutches from Sandra that I need to put together still. We moved my work room to another room in the house and that put me behind. lol
@@paisliesplace3921 boy, I understand 100%! I have another thing of Sandra’s to make, but I’m trying to figure out where to shove it into my schedule. 😂
@@DollyPop My brain goes a million miles an hour sometimes. LOL All sorts of things juggling in the air while trying to finish the one that landed in my hand. 😂😂 See you at Blythecon friend! 🥰
I love the way it turned out- it's so cool to see how the different materials come together to make such an ethereal scene! And I like all your kinds of videos- ones like this that are longer than a "short" but still short are great for my study breaks (like I am wrapping up right now).
I’ll keep that in mind. My doll creations tend to be “extra” so it’s tough to keep those videos short. But I’ve been playing with the idea of some more short form stuff, so maybe I’ll be able to manage more of this. 😉
The dish soap helps break the surface tension of the water so the Mod Podge and water mix more thoroughly and it absorbs into the sand/rocks completely.
Love it, it looks amazing! My only little bit of constructive criticism is that, after you worked so hard to make such a cool piece, it's a little hard to see the whole thing in its entirety. The lighting and underwater effects for the reveal are cool, don't get me wrong, but I wish we got to see the piece in just some normal lighting as well so we could really see all the details a bit easier. Still, this is a beautiful piece that compliments the doll well! 😊💕 Great work, and I can't wait to see what your next project is!!
I agree. My wife spent so much time on making the 3D graphics, but it ended up a little too dark and hard to see. But at some point I had to just accept the footage I had and release the video. 😅 I’ve already told my wife that next time we need to mix it up with regular studio footage too. 😉
Wow this is wonderful, unfortunately I can’t afford printer for myself so i sculpt everything with paper, cartoon and finish touch with apoxy sculpture, since you already have this ready to print, are you will to sell it? Will size match Barbie dolls? Thank you so much and this is incredible work 😍
So I show a like 6 second clip at the beginning of the seaweed portion that shows the attachment point. Blythe have two holes in the back of the head that you can stick things into. We printed a two-prong attachment point to stick in the head, and then attached it to a rotating camera joint so it’s positionable, then attached all of that to the stand. I had forgotten to include all of that until right before I was going to export the video. Maybe I’ll make a small addendum short or something. 😅
