2 years later... anything you wish you would have done different? I looked for a follow up video but didn't see one. Plus great video! Very well explained!
Just a heads-up, the Gorilla glue is water reactive. You can read it on the label. A slight smearing of water on the surface of your parts. will catalyse the glue and cause it to set quicker.
I have a 5 to 30 gallon fish tank air pump. Just curious as what you use. I’m new to powder coating and just trying to get a feel for the appropriate materials
Having trouble trying to find the top lid that will keep the powder intact when not in use. The Home Depot guy gave me the same thing used for the bottom of the base. It don't look or work like yours. What exactly are you using for the top lid? Where did you get it?

Finally got everything set up using 4 inch pvc with TJ Tackle filters. I Filled it halfway. I readjusted the air. But, I can't get it to rise nowhere near the top without the volcanos spilling out it first. What am I missing?
Filter media may be upside down, also you definitely need to seal the media to the bottom of the cup all the way around, if you don't you will get volcanos in specific spots
@@B8N_Tackle So it's shiny side up. Right? And I used epoxy resin to seal it. I made 4. I'm gonna try another one tonight when I get home from from work.
@ThoughtManifest FYI, did you mean 3 inch, I'm not aware of a 4 inch. But yes I did Shiny side up and they worked great for me. But also keep in mind not every color powder paint is created equal, I still dip my blacks and white because they are a heavier powder and don't fluidize as well.
@@B8N_Tackle I was referring to 4 in long. For some reason, the air valve hole on yours looks higher up than mine. Also, I did test it on black high gloss powder.
How far down do you push the cup into the base to seal it? Are you still using the lunch bag as your filter or did you find something else that works better, I’m having issues with solid colours volcanoing all the time.
Hey Mike! Thanks for the comment! I push the cup all the way down in as far as it will go, you may need to sand or trim the edge of the cup and paper to get it in there, but you do still want it snug. I don't use these with solid color paints only the thicker 2 colored paints. I have the Volcano effect as well but when I turn down the air that usually goes away. I have stuck with paper bags, but if you find a better material please let me know, I feel like it's just a touch too thick.
I could see maybe using 2 or 3 at a time for different color combos but I agree that thing is insane! Cool as hell just to make it though! Much love to SDG he is the man!
