Hi Matt, a floor and ramp for the bin store might be worth thinking about. Lifting what could be heavy recycling bins (especially the green waste one) over the frame will become a chore!
Matt you must have a sixth sense I’m looking to do something similar for my household and recycling waste bins. I love your design , I’m going back to my drawing board (one day hopefully fusion 360) great job 👌
Just got stock delivered today to do a 4 wheelie bin store. Alas the Scottish summer has made a roaring return so it will need to wait until the sideways rain stops. Good video man 👍
Build first plan later, how most of my projects go👍, Lovely work Matt. Can i ask about your boots you wore in the video, they look really comfortable, thanks.
Nice solution to those problems, looks great too. Although I do wonder about the step in the bin store, if you turn the bins around it should be easier to get them out maybe? Well filmed and brilliantly explained, nice one😁👍
Loved this video buddy. well done. il be needing to build one of these next year once iv finished my decking area under our tree. Well done my friend it looks realy steady
Hi, Great video, and very helpful, thanks I'm looking to do something similar, and as a complete DIY novice I find myself almost overwhelmed by the number of tool and supply choices. Could you tell me about the types of screws you used for yours please
Looks rather smart! I do love Toolstation, next day delivery with only a £10 spend has saved me many times. Plus, it's much cheaper for screws than Screwfix!
I'd chop out the wood at the base of the wheelie bin store if you haven't already - when the wheelie bin is full it will be a challenge to lift. To hang your mower, some chain from back to front roof beams with a hook hanging down would probably be a good solution in the cupboard.
Lifting those loaded bins over that piece of wood could be a bit of a pain1 Why not put a sloping 3 plank high door instead so it can be dropped down and then wheel the bins out!
i love the colours u have chosen for the wood; i understand the ground not beeing level but i think it would have been worth the time to allign the 2 sheds verticaly so that the roofs matched in hight; one continous roof, 4 5 meters long, would have had a fantastic appearence from your garden
That actually looks really good Matt! I personally would make a raised floor for the carbage bins. when they are full you have to lift them up to get them out. Great Job!
It seems I missed watching this video in September. Don't know why. Great job! Are you going to do/did you do something with the old fences or is it just some extra firewood?
Nice project; it looks great. A simple but effective solution to the problem of keeping things tidy. Thanks for sharing your ideas. Think I'll be trying something similar very soon. Best wishes
Matt, great project. I have made something similar for my woodshed which holds pallet wood. The wood for the frame came out of a skip as builders were converting a loft and for the price of two Costa coffees gave me free access to a lot of almost new 3x2 timber. Clad in pallet wood and resting on bricks to raise it from the ground I put a roof on of recycled plywood and then new roofing felt. Painted woodland green with left over fence paint. Apart from the screws, nails and felt the rest was free so was able to buy a 2.4 x 1.8 camouflage tarp for the front. Sits around 100 foot from the house and amongst trees so blends right in.
Nice build Matt, the only thing I would do different is tack DPC along the base to keep the timber off the damp concrete, I know you used treated timber but it would still prolong the structures life.
I’ve been wanting to build a log store for a while now but didn’t now how to go about. I would have never of though to put an addon for gardening tools either. Thanks for the video! Next project sorted
A great build and looks really good, as well as being practical. As all of us workshoppers know, shed/garage/workshop space is premium space, so shifting stuff like this out, is always a bonus result. 😁👍
Looks good but you might want to put a floor under the bins as they are heavy when full to lift over that lip when they are put in that way round, but thats a minor point and its still a very good idea. Keep up the good work
Just what I've been looking for - I have a large pallet that I could use as the base but your design is just what I need. Oh ever thought of building an outdoor tool shed 😉
Another great project done Matt.I like the contrast in colour between the feather edge and the painted.Certainly better on the eye than the old fence panels.
Great job Matt, very impressed. Do you have to wheel your bins out to the street for collection? If so , a florr might be a good idea in that shed so you don't have to keep negotiating to lower front crossmember esp when the bins are full. I loved the; "Here's a second one I made earlier" thing!
@@Badgerworkshop Oh, I see. That works too. Its just that my bins used to be kept on paving slabs the were raised, one slab height, higher than the path itself. Levering themback into position after collection day was always a little cumbersome and a tad annoying, lol.
Great build Matt, that’s something I’ve been meaning to do for a while now I’m a joiner by trade and made one a good bit bigger for a customer a year or so ago. Great video keep up the good work
