In this video you will see me make a new wood pickguard for my partscaster from start to finish using another one as a template and see me demo it on the guitar. Bigger builds will be coming out soon so be sure to check out what I will be coming out with next on the channel.

The pickguard is beautiful, but that's a lot of wasted mahogany. You could have got 2 or 3 pg's out of that slab

That's a really good job. The pick guard is worth more than the guitar but that was really well done 😝

Awesome Bro《☆》Looking at my MIM Strat I think a 1/4" thick sheet of wood will be about the maximum thickness. I'm guessing the Squire measures the same. Fine Job & nice playing🤓👍🏾Did you notice any difference in tone ?🤔The look alone makes it worthwhile :*: Greetings from Florida🤓🗣🔊☮✌👍🏾

Hello. Nice video and beautiful work! Just out of curiosity, does a wood pickguard change the sound of the guitar? Just wondering your observations. Thanks!

Hi, looking at doing somthing like this myself, how thick was the finished pickgaurd? and did you have any problems with it flexing or being delicate? Good job!

I had to be extremely careful with it because I know it is fragile. I was worried that it would brake apart in the planer but it never happened. The thickness is just slightly thicker than a standard 3-ply strat pickguard. It does flex when off of the guitar but when screwed on you cannot notice any flex even when pressing down on a part of the guard with a cavity under it.

This looks really awesome...not sure it would look as good on a black squier like mine.

Good Job! If you can make a comparison sound between a plastic vs wood pickguard unplugged i think you will gain lots of views.

Awesome job ! I was just curious At 3:20 the thickness of the wood is different from the thickness at 3:51 you didn’t really show how it changed, did you just kept planing it or did you just routed it down? This video was extremely helpful btw

It was planed down, cant remember why I didn't record that part. I had to put it on a piece of MDF because my planer will not go far enough down to plane something that thin.

What finish do i need to apply so the PG wont get stains from sweat or just from playing regularly?

Dude can you make a left handed HSS pickguard for me? I can only find a black one or the others would only fit a floyd rose bridge

That 1st machine, what's it called?

You could have resawn the board thinner at the start instead of just planing it all the way down. What a waste of wood.
