How to open ArcMap, add relevant toolbars and windows and basemaps and vector file. Open ArcCatalog and create a new shapefile polygon with a Geographic Coordinate System and digitize the polygon boundaries.
THANK YOU! I watched at least 5 other videos and they werent what I needed - but your video was spot on! Easy to follow along (with some pausing in between steps) but this was exactly what I needed! THANK YOU!
Thanks a lot from a bloody beginner. This video was very helpful. Tried googling this but ended at the ArcGIS help pages for creating shapes which didn't explain anything about creating shapes.
Sweet! I really need a resource that showed someone using one of Arc's default basemaps. I thought one of my issues was with the basemap I was using. This really cleared it up. I haven't attempted this in arcMap -- I ought to -- but, what about polygons with negative space inside? How would one go about doing that. Might be a good addition to the tutorial.
Hi..Thanks for the video. I have been wondering that all the arcgis tutorial they open up the folder connection and got some files. But mine got nothing. Is it your own files or you need to download them somewhere? I can get started because I dont have any file inside the folder connection.
I don't know why my new shapefile stays at the bottom, even though in the ToC it shows that it is the top layer. Also, when I'm tracing the polygon, it doesn't show the vertices that I'm putting on (i.e. when I repeat your steps, the interface of what I'm working on doesn't look exactly like yours).
yes.... YES ..... YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS OOOOHHH MY GOD I FINALLY HAVE IT ! :D :D :D :D DON'T ASK ME HOW I WILL NOT RUIN GOOD THING ! :D
