NOTE: Please check out my newest and so far best pain remedy extract here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gm_UN7sTfqg.html ALSO: I tend to get to yammering in my videos and then forget to mention a few important details. For example - this extract is for INTERNAL use for various pains including headaches, joint pain, and muscle aches. Also, after allowing the herbs to sit in the solvent for 6-8 weeks, I strain out the herbs and store in a glass jar or bottle in a cool, dark cabinet
@isaacwillson8617
@isaacwillson8617 4 года назад
One question I have seen other videos where I guess it was in the “tincture “ method rather then extract, they would boil the contents with the alcohol which they used in the video everclear grain alcohol that’s close to 90% alcohol and boil it until it’s about half of the original volume. I like your method better it seems simpler but I do understand that with the alcohol or tincture method rather then the extract method the results would be a stronger product. So two questions, 1) then with the extract method no boiling is necessary, right? You just store for four to 6 weeks then strain it. And then 2) for commercially made extract products that you see in the stores, what is typically used most, vinegar, or alcohol when they make their products? And is it possible to make a extract with alcohol and just strain it after 4 to 6 weeks and not boil it like I have seen in other videos? Thank you great video also can you recommend a good site for medicinal plant seeds? I suffer from chronic pain with fibromyalgia and neuropathy also joint pain, the pharmaceuticals that were prescribed to me were killing me and giving me ulcers and gerd, and many digestive disorders that almost literally killed me, I started taking ginger root, turmeric, and garlic and I feel cured from my digestive disorders but I still am having painful nerve pain that keeps me up at night. Thank you for your videos, eastern medicine the doctors only are paid if the patient stays healthy, western medicine the doctors only get paid if the patient stays sick. 😷 🤷‍♂️ 🧐🤔 Thanks again God Bless

Also it’s important to note that recently glyphosate has been found in store bought wines, beers and alcohol, with traces to leading back to Monsanto. Glyphosate has links to causing lymphoma cancer, and to fibromyalgia and neurological disorders. If you think you have any condition that maybe a result of pesticides or other chemicals that cause any of your pain related issues, we are supposed to be compensated after the most recent ruling in court over Monsanto. Monsanto is a monster that corporation should be driven out of business, they literally are the devil. No ifs ands or buts about it they make business out of destroying Gods creations, I think that’s the text book definition of the devil. Anyway they really upset me but I thought I would mention that, because it’s good that you make your own wine and vinegar. Thanks again God Bless

@number1hinesfeet It really depends, much of the glass bottles (indluding the brown swing top beer bottles I use for extracts) and jars I use I have obtained from garage sales but my swing top clear 1 liter bottles are Italian made and high quality. @@roseyfinley4785 honestly I have been taking it for at least 10 years.. I and many others have had great success with it... The group I have been in has been defending it's use. I know some people have died and it was found in their system.... However, I have not checked the stats in about a year but for everyone that has died, kratom was not the only substance in their system.... Fentanyl, oxycodone or contyn, Xanax and other hard substances were in their system... In large amounts..... Far more people are dying from fentanyl... As a chronic pain patient, I and others can tell you, the government has tied the hands of pain management doctors to be able to effectively treat their patients.... Hence the opioid epidemic created by our government.... If they take kratom away, more good people will feel they have no choice but to hit the streets looking for whatever they can get their hands on.... I have no issue with regulation of kratom but, what it all boils down to is this... Big pharma and the government are not making money off of it because I promise they don't care about you or I🥺🥺

Thanks Heidi.. I make all my tinctures out of Everclear.. but the wine is what I make at home, so would be more self sustainable. I will be interested and see what the results are. As far as making the grape wine by fermentation for several day.. It is nice to be able to "capture" the grape skin tannin's on them. Wine like vinegar, can be made with anything.. beet is one of my favorite "earthy" flavor of wine, and is IMO yummy.. but also have the great benefits of the beet root itself.. I also put beets in my fire cider. Isn't this all fun? and so beneficial. I will be staying tunes for the results. Thanks for sharing your process..

You just gave me more inspiration for getting off my medicines! I recently used Sambucol Black Elderberry for colds/flu, as I never could take decongestants and would get on antibiotics to stop an oncoming sinus infection, and it cleared up in 3 days-I was amazed! That helped with my decision to get off all drugs! I had been way over medicated for pain-osteoarthritis in both knees and herniated disc’s; I had been sedentary and muscles atrophied. Couldn’t walk to mailbox! So I had to move in with my son and family and just packing & moving itself got me losing some weight which helped me walk, now I’m walking around the block with my granddaughter of age 2, lifting her up, getting on the ground and back up-a little slow, but doable! In pain 24/7, but bearable. I have been on 30 mg of pain meds for past 6 years and as of right now I’m down to 2.5 mg/day. I feel a little more sore, but I think that’s part of the detox. I started taking a generic super beets powder, I purposely don’t use a full scoop & it helps with my circulation so I’m not taking my nightly fluid pill and it boosts my immune system & has plenty of antioxidants! I used to take 3 anti anxiety pills a day, & now am down to a half a pill/day. I know lemon balm & peppermint tea will help with that! I really think the pain meds were making me gain weight, masking other things and didn’t really help much anyway! I couldn’t agree with you more, and I’m living proof you are right!

@dvorahkane
@dvorahkane 2 года назад
I think using wine because it is sustainable is great. But there are two issues to using it over vodka or Everclear... 1. It won't have as long of shelf life. One needs at least 25% alcohol content for it to keep. 2. Different plants release their medicinal qualities better in a much higher alcohol concentration The herbs used here were dry, meaning they do not have any water, meaning they could be extracted by a lower alcohol content. (Fresh herbs often need at least 40 proof (80% alcohol by volume) to make up for the water content in the flower/herb to keep it at at least a 25% alcohol by volume concentration of alcohol so it won't spoil. So 14% alcohol could extract some constituents from the dry plant, but it would not have a long shelf life.

I have spectacular headaches and migraines. I've found that if i put peppermint essential oil directly (and you can put peppermint directly onto skin - but not broken skin - for most people) onto where the pain is on my head/back of neck, it goes cool, then knocks me out to sleep, and the pain is gone. Does the same (without the sleep) for intestinal/bowel pain, and for swellings or pain in joints, or swollen muscles, sprains etc. Great also for those sores people get on lips and noses from a cold, etc. Also helps with faster healing and reduces the swelling - though something moisturising like beeswax to help with the dry, tight scab is a good idea. It can even prevent those sores if used early enough, being anti-viral and anti-inflammatory.

LARK'S GARDENS Funny story: I apprenticed with Rosemary a couple+ decades ago. She told us that when she first started “playing” with *100% pure essential oils* (FYI must say that on label or it’s a fragrance or synthetic oil...not good for medicines), her husband at the time was achy all over. She had him take a bath and added an entire half to one ounce - can’t recall - of straight peppermint oil to his bath. She left the room then suddenly heard him screaming, “What did you do to me?!?” She ran to the bathroom and there he was standing naked and beet red. She found out later that she should’ve only put about 10 drops into his bath water. Btw, if you ever OD like this from essential oils (cayenne would be another), DON’T use water to wash off...that only drives the oil deeper into your skin. The best thing to do is pat olive oil on your skin; you could try honey too but oil is the best. She had all the apprentices in stitches telling that story. Too funny. As for overly spicy foods, chase with bread which helps tremendously. Thought you’d get a chuckle from this too. Btw, her husband suffered no damage from her early days of starting out as an herbalist. 😂

Hi Heidi...I have been following you for some time now. I enjoy watching your videos & like how you make this easy for beginners to learn to make their own teas & herbal remedies. I am like you in that I am self taught. I am 68yrs old & began studying & making my own remedies when I was 25yrs. There is just one suggestion that I want to mention here...when making any herbal tea, tincture, etc, it is essential to mention to folks that they should never give ANYTHING to a child less than one year old! It could lead to infant botulism due to contaminated soil or dust which can contaminate the honey! I feel that it’s just as important to safeguard ourselves when sharing these wonderful natural remedies as it is to disclose that you are not a doctor or a formally educated naturalist. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. I feel that we, as a society, are heading for a time when it will be essential that we know how to forage, harvest & use the many things that God has given us for our health!!🥰🎶🌱🌼

I am not sure what happened to my reply but yes, I absolutely know that you are not to give honey to infants and knew this when I was a young mother of my own babies. but if you look it up, it is actually under the age of one, not two. However, I never had intention of giving any kind of herbal extract to my grandchildren until they were older. Whenever you hear me mention grandbabies, it is because I am preparing for that day when not only do I have grandbabies but also when they are old enough. "Grandbabies" is just my general term for grandchildren

My 4th Great-Grandmother was an herb doctor and midwife. She was honored about 2-3 years ago in N.C. In hunting for her recipe book I found it was at Duke University and is done digitally. I was unable to get a copy from Duke University for some reason. Before it was given to Duke I was able to get some of it online. The problem, I have no idea where to find the herbs. Also, no measurements, like you, she probably just knew how much by sight and feel. I am interested in herbs but I have to know the "root" of each herb due to lots of allergies. For example, I am highly allergic to echinacea.

@RainCountryHomestead
@RainCountryHomestead 5 лет назад
I will be doing a video soon on blood pressure and then one one cholesterol, but I will say this, I do not believe ANY one should or needs to take either of them from what I have learned. Our body needs blood pressure to do what it should do naturally, if it is high, then it needs to be due to whatever stress is being put on the body. If it is chronic, then find the source of the stress (physical, emotional, or chemical). Our bodies also NEED cholesterol and it is a myth that high cholesterol causes heart problems. In fact, 75% of people who have heart attacks have low or "normal" cholesterol levels, but the doctors that put you on those drugs won't tell you all that. It may be that they are simply ignorant.
@LadyPashta
@LadyPashta 2 года назад
Yes, our bodies actually make cholesterol, it's used to repair tears in our veins. Dietary cholesterol doesn't make us have issues, it's the issues that cause the high cholesterol. Science is slow to admit to being wrong but they are doing so, too bad it's taking a while.
@KoolAide187

Just FYI, amazon sells a product called an "air still." It will distill things like your wine if for some reason it didn't taste good. You could use the "brandy" (distilled wine) which will be 40%+ percent alcohol at that point and add it into your tinctures. The higher alcohol percent you get the faster it will vaporize into the air and you can remove the alcohol from the jars via fan or something. It may not be something you're interested in but just throwing it out there in case you were. I could see it being beneficial in a setup like yours doing tinctures.

Parts is ratio. The measurement is up to you so what that means if you choose to use 3/4 cup of glycerin then you would want 1/4 cup of water. That is 3 parts to 1 part or 3:1. If you want to make a larger batch you may use 3 cups glycerin and 1 cup water. The ratio stays the same 3 parts to 1 part.

Hi Heidi...I have been watching you for a good while & find your videos to be quite informative. There is just one thing that I want to point out here...when making any type of herbal concoction that you may want to give to a little one for any ailment, you should never give honey nor anything containing honey to a child under the age of 2yrs old! It can cause some pretty harmful side effects since their immune systems are still developing! Please keep your videos coming!! I myself am self taught like you. I am 68yrs old & have been studying & using herbal remedies since I was about 25yrs old with great results. I believe that we are heading for a time that it will be essential that we know how to treat ourselves & our loved ones with natural ingredients! Yes, I have known this for many years, even when I was a young mother of my own babies. However, the age is under one year, not two, though it is likely best to go ahead and wait until they are two. I never had intention of giving raw honey to an infant. When I say such things in videos, I am just thinking and planning ahead for that time. I would be nervous about giving any herbal extract to a child under the ages of 1 or 2 anyway.

I just wondered if you had ever made a tincture or extract from it because I havent done this with anything yet and am wanting to start doing this with the natural meds i forage.and also the herbs you can grow for medicinal usage. When you are speaking of medicinal herbs, it is best to strain out the herbs from the solvent (I used homemade wine now, I do not use vodka anymore) after about two months. You can leave longer if you wish but usually two months is plenty. If you keep adding more solvent to the herbs, the extract will become weaker and have less effectiveness. It is best to start a fresh batch with new herbs and solvent

It will not remove all the alcohol and heating them too much can damage the some of the nutrients - mostly vitamins A and C, but yes, that can be done.
