In this video I show you how I decorate a Paw Patrol cake in just 60 seconds!
Thanks to timelapse!
Steps:
Start with a fondant covered cake board. I chose green so it matches the hills I will be adding.
Next I add my cake that's covered in blue buttercream to the board.
Then I add some green fondant around the cake to simulate the hills.
Trim the back of the fondant so the pieces match up to eachother and use a gloved finger to smooth the seams together.
I made the tower ahead time out of gumpaste and I painted it with Poppy Paints edible paints. I let it dry overnight and now I'm gluing it to the cake using my edible glue that's available on my website www.LHCakery.com/shop
Now for the clouds- I roll out some white fondant and I cover it with plastic wrap, then I cut out the clouds with a cutter. This allows the clouds to puff up a bit, creating a fluffier looking cloud and not so flat.
I add them around the bottom tier of the cake. These are also glued to the cake with my edible glue.
Now I'm using a little steamer around the cake. This takes off any excess powdered sugar or cornstarch. It does give a temporary shine. It also makes the fondant a tad bit sticky so that you can adhere the little toys to the bottom.
I add the top tier to the cake using a skewer.
I add a 2 to the top that I previously made out of gumpaste, along with the toys.
I add the Paw Patrol logo that I previously made out of fondant and let dry overnight. The cutter is from JBcookieCutters.
I add my edible glue to adhere the fondant strip which will be a belt for added cuteness. Then a few paw prints around the cake which were made out of fondant and pressed into a mold.
