The next task on our panel van conversion was to build the plywood floor and cover with vinyl. We watched many videos on how to scribe the floor, even buying a tool recommended, however i thought it might be easier to use the rubber floor the van came with as a template. So this video follows that journey. Thanks for watching, any comments or advice are really appreciated.

Hello, great job with the floor. How much Barton did you use in length. I’m going to use the same 10mm x 30mm

Hello. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I bought 2 packs of 12 lengths I believe, bought from B&Q. 1 pack was not quite enough. Fixing the batton down with sikaflex rather than screwing into the floor has worked fine too.

Hello. Thanks for viewing and kind comment on our build. I bought it for eBay.. Striped Vinyl Flooring Roll Bamboo Style Wood Planks Foam Sheet Lino Bathroom Item number 123213907365 We are really pleased with it as we installed a bamboo worktop and table. It appears to wear well too, although as it is foam backed, anything pressed into it (like a screw) will leave a mark.

I bought my entire units including worktops from a company called Evo motion designs. www.evomotiondesign.co.uk Not cheap but quality is pretty good.

It looks really nice! Can I ask you what kind of screws you used to secure the plywood? Is it screwed into the floor metal? Thank you!

Hello. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I used stainless steel screws, I think from memory they were 25mm. I only screwed into the Sikaflex down wooden batten, as I did not want to create unnecessary holes in the actual van floor. My logic was the weight of the bed(80kg) which is bolted through the van floor, the units plus the Sikaflex batten would hold the plyboard floor in place.

Hello again 👋🏻. How many battens please? Think I’m gonna do the same. Also, didn’t you carpet the rear/side doors? Thanks again 👍🏻

Hello. I had to buy 2 packs of batton as one pack was not quite enough. Yes we carpeted the sliding door and barn doors but only the blind surround and the original hard board panels that came with the van. So yes we do have a very small amount of metal work uncarpeted but I wanted it that way to offer some contrast.

Hi how many cans of spray did you use on the vinyl? And where did you get it from.

Hi. Thanks for viewing my video and taking the time to comment. We used 2 cans to lay the vinyl and it was purchased off ebay for around £80, item number 123213907365, I purchased 3m × 2m.

Hello. Thanks for viewing my video and commenting. I used SIKAFLEX 221, I tested it on an old piece of wood which I applied the SIKAFLEX too and stuck it to another piece of wood and it stuck incredibly well, so was confident it would work for the batto
