Hi Jen yes I think using a robot machine counts just so long as it doesn't do all the work, so you are covered there girl. What a fabulous design and yes like you I personally think that using a darker wood with the marble would look even more fabulous. Thanks for sharing and I love your RU-vid video you look and appear to have done it for years you are a natural. Thank you again and pleases stay well and safe to you and your loved ones from us here in Western Australia
Hello Jen and good footage thanks of your wonderful woodwork piece (table) and I’m in the construction industry as I enjoy what I do so stay safe amidst the covid-19 and cheerio
Sweet table! Suggestion for the spacing that doesn't involve math...use the CNC to cut some spacers that you can use as you build the levels. It should be fairly easy to measure and cut the negative space on your design/cut file...just make sure you account for the thickness of your router bit. Just a thought.
I personally discount CNC machines as real woodworking. I like to put my "soul", work and time in a project, I do not like a program robot to do the work for me. I will agree that some pieces could be repetitive. This being said, I like very much your video and round table project.
your question is using a CNC real woodworking? I'm a little torn here. But as a whole NO, it's not real woodworking. It is real computer programing. Let me explain before you all jump on my case. CNCs are used in industry when mass production is necessary to keep the cost down. However when CNC is used for carving ornate trim pieces or projects that would otherwise be done by hand. Its a cop-out. There is no craftsmanship in programming a computer and watching it do it for you. You and your robot did it together. you make a great team. :)
OF COURSE it's REAL WOODWORKING! It was the woodworkers mind that created the plan, just using a NEW TOOL FOR EFFICIENCY! Is it considered not real woodworking if you use any electrical tools !?! C'mon:)
