That is awesome Mike! I am the guy that sold the tractor to Mike and I was grinning from ear to ear when he got that old baby Running. The video doesn’t show all of his institutional knowledge and tenacity and it took all of that to get that baby running again I hope it brings you many happy hours can you keep t running smooth and silky
Nice fix, well made video. I would have loved to see if the repaired rod would have worked and if running would be ok (out of curiousity), but obviously it's not my tractor, and the bent rod would be less strong, and if it breaks, it totals the engine and probably the complete tractor. Getting that extra peace of mind and insurance for $200 is a no brainer of course.
Now we will never know the quality of you fix of the rod Mike lol I was looking forward to seeing it run with the repaired rod lol I would have been cheering it on. Great fix Mike and well worth watching another great little machine joins the fleet. Well done 👍🇬🇧John
i think it would have ran ok if i used the old rod. probably 20-60 psi less on that cylinder just a guess. but since i found the rod cheap enough i didnt want to have to get in it again.
@@mikekisch5563 I was shown a method for balancing rods using two very soft springs and a couple of pegs on the wall, mate used to balance the rods on his formula Vee race car this way. would be the only other thing to check is static mass and dynamic balance between all four. probably not super critical on a low revving oil burner. love the result!

It's nice that they designed that tractor so a guy can do an in-frame overhaul. I really like your electric fork lift. I see you put an addition on the shop also.
the only problem i found was trying to time the injection pump. there was no timing marks on the flywheel, so i had to use the starter hole and find tdc. then i was able to calculate the right timing with the teeth on the flywheel. everything else was easy to work on. this is the same engine for kioti and bobcat tractors
Hadn't heard anything from you in awhile...you've been busy though! Concrete Floor, Electric Forklift.......I've heard so many stories for messed up engines on equipment left outside with uncovered Intake or Exhausts getting full of water. Such a simple thing to avoid too. At least you got this one before it could really rust up! Great Job and nice addition to the "fleet"
I bought a cheap little walk behind tractor which was sort of seized, it also had much water in the oil from sitting outside for many years. Fortunately I was able to get it running again without having to take the engine apart and it is providing sterling service now!
