It's really a privilege to watch you grow as a jeweler and a craftsman. All these skills you are trying, and learning, I, for one, appreciate you sharing your journey with us. I find your videos very inspiring. Please don't stop pressing forward, and trying new things. Thank you for all the effort you put into making these videos.
I always enjoy watching/learning, particularly as your styles expand and you branch out. The coin rings got me coming back. And I am delighted that we can celebrate His resurrection.
One of the things I like about you, Skyler, is your attitude. Instead of getting angry and throwing the broken coin across your shop, you think about your options and then just go with it. Great God-honoring solution to a bummer of a circumstance. It's fun to see you trying new things and expanding your offerings. Keep up the great work, my friend!
This was an amazing video. I loved that you crafted this using different techniques. The casting looks fun and the lost cast waxing makes a lot of designs come to life. It was awesome that Dave assisted in the making of this video with some cool tools of the trade! Pepe tools rock! Thanks for sharing these awesome videos as always great content! Definitely something to aspire to and more to learn in this beautiful skill..
Great video, Skyler. Keeping all the problems and challenges intact is what makes this so much more interesting. We learn through your challenges as well. And Happy Easter. He IS risen.
I also like the signet rings ! I believe it’s fitting more for a guy . I’ve made a few out of bronze and is there a way to keep them from discoloring your finger without using nail polish ? Do you use glue to hold flush mounted stones ?
There's some serious spooky elements- no pun intended- at work there. I think I'll stick to more recent coins for my jewelry! Joking aside..good on ya for attempting the piece!
I really enjoy your your channel like your content thank you so much for what you're doing most like I'll buy a ring in a couple weeks I so want to do this for a hobby
Skyler. David at Pepe tools did me rite on the 17 / 25 if get more money I’ll get Pepe ring stretcher all so Jason tools rite on good deal keep on ringing!
It may be beneficial to explain how you came to acquire this piece. We call this the “provenance” of an artifact. The illicit trade of artifacts is a huge problem in archaeology that those in the field try to discourage.
Too bad about the ring. Next time, for you favorite original, make a 1mm blank of the same size and shape. Press that into the sand mold, then lay your original on top with a small bead of wax to keep it from slipping. Ram your sand on the second half and you're good to go!
Your videos are better and better👍. A pleasure to watch. What type of flux do you use in spray? I am using regular borax, but like the idea of spray application.
Hey Skylar do u sell ur jewelry? And do u take requests on what a person wants. I just now found your channel and I'd like to have a ring or 2, maybe out of a $1 coin or 50 cent piece. Thanks for the wonderful work u do
Why would you do this to such an old piece of history, you could have just put it on a necklace with a frame that allows you to see both sides of the coin. But, it is yours so you can do whatever you want to. I'm just saying it would have looked much better on a necklace and would have preserved the entirety of the coin. Edit: oh no, I'm an assumptious idiot. I'm glad you made a copy of the coin instead of destroy it. Even if it is in pieces now, at least you can frame it back together and put it on your wall
the auto focus / aperture/ exposure changing all the time made it a little bit hard to watch (for me) maybe try to find a manual setting and set it to fixed values ?
shame on you about the old coin... but ok :)... regarding Pepe tools and A and A Jewelry supply, great guys and, you deserve it... hug from lisbon, portugal, EU
