i know, but u may have wanted to explain the process of determining how much metal you need, ie... weigh the wax with sprue, x sg of 14k plus about 10dwts for the button.
You are a talented craftsman, but not educated on CC Morgans. You could have bought a non GSA, ungraded CC Morgan, same year/condition and made the same ring for less. Once you removed it from the GSA packaging, that is exactly what you had. The good thing is that is a common year, the bad thing is you could have paid one to two hundred less for a raw 1884 cc Morgan, made the exact same coin, and passed the savings to the buyer. But it is a beautiful ring, no doubt!
Thanks! I took as much weight off of it as I could from the underside but it is still nearly 1.5 oz of 14k! I was a bit concerned it would feel too heavy but the euro shank keeps it nice and evenly balanced. I wore it around the shop this afternoon and I was surprised how comfortable it felt!
Wanted to make a quarter ring as my husbands wedding band. Dont own a drill and im not interested in buying one with the special bit but holy crap the auto puncher is 400$! And thats with only 2 sizes!
You have a great set of tools and a huge amount of skill and talent. However, "Casted" is not a word. "Do you say cast or casted? 1. Answer: cast. Explanation: Cast is the correct form of the verb. Casted doesnt exist.
Bro you make some amazing stuff and I'm still looking at me and my wife's ring you helped us make. I'm very proud of both and very blessed to have you help us with them. You rock homie. 😁👍
Thanks! I plan on doing more detailed tutorials like this as I build different things :) I can’t remember what footage I got from this one but there definitely is more coming.
Have taken a break from coin ring making (doing a lot of woodworking), but need to make a ring for a family member. Of course, the first place I go to for a refresher course is your videos. I even was fortunate enough to chat with you on the phone some time ago and you were generous with your time. Anyway, just wanted to thank you for the amazing videos you have put out. I even spent time watching the shop build. You are definitely a person of many, many talents. Take care
I love these! I am going to try it. I have a few questions. How long did you leave them in the book? Did you make two or more earrings in the one flask and how many pendants in the other? Also, how long did you dry the twigs and how thick were the stems where you drilled the hole? Thank you!
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint Thx as I intend to anneal in my electric melting furnace with temp set! Again thank you and I'll let you know how my Dime Belcher necklace turns out!!!
Does overheating the coin lead to it being more brittle? I just tried to make my first silver half dollar coin ring but it broke in the first die😅, super expensive mistake and I don’t really want to make that same one again!
. When you overheat a coin usually the surface bubbles or melts. If it doesn’t do that, usually you haven’t overheated it. What type of coin is it and where did you get it?
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint definitely going to save money this is going to be my next gift 🎁 awesome idea man. Thanks once again and keep posting those amazing videos 👍🏽
I tried to make a silver dollar coin ring, it started okay but seemed to not want to fold after the 3 rd heating. The first one broke and this one is getting hard. If the silver dollar came from Temu will that make a difference. As I want to make a spinnner similar to the one you made. Thank you Ed
Temu is definitely your problem. They are fake and they means it’s cast. You can’t fold a cast coin. They have to be a real coin that has been extruded and struck to get the metal grain pattern that will allow it to fold.
