I want to use this technique with the plaster copy but want to mix it with marble powder. Do you have any experience with that? What proportions I need or what kind of pigments are usable? By the way: you are a fantastic teacher 😊

This is really interesting. What would you do for the next step to duplicate this into stone again? Does it just act as a handy reference to measure from. How would this be different to a high quality picture?

I did it to make plaster cast copies of the original stone. The original work is sold to a private collector, but now people who like the works can order plaster cast replicas.

I was surprised that you didn't wear a respirator or dust mask when mixing the plaster. I noticed the same in a recent video where you were carving and sanding stone. Isn't there a health risk from breathing in particulates like that, especially stone? Or is that not a problem with the materials you use?

Breathing small particles is never a good thing. But marble and plaster are not that dangerous as they are chalk based. Siliceous rocks like granite on the other hand are harmful for the lungs.
