You are so talented. I love that you live at home and create such memorable designs to go... nowhere. When you look so amazing you don't need to leave the house! Just sit around drinking a cocktail, looking fabulous! You are so inspiring to us all.
Gorgeous! Honestly, I've started wearing my party dresses round the house nowadays! The postman looked at me oddly one day when I greeted him in blue satin and a tiara at 10am, but who cares!
I think that is great! I love to wear my pretty clothes and jewels for ME. I don't care if I have no reason. I have no reason not to. I used to pick up my boys at school in a Shirtwaist and Pearls.
@@julietokumaru3855 The other day I told my husband I wished I had a reason to make a fancy Christmas dress and he just looked at me and said, "Why do you need a reason?" And I really wish I could internalize that.
@@cherylrosbak4092 You seem to have a good husband! It is hard to internalize spending time and money on yourself. Our culture says it's fine for children and men but women must be practical. It is really very sad. That's why you buy fabric on sale and wear your pretty dresses as often as you can.
I think it’s time to THROW a holiday party - cocktail attire. Or just get a group of friends to meet up for a nice dinner, (cocktail attire) maybe at a place that includes a dance floor. Or… invite a few friends over for cookies in cocktail attire! 😂❤
Thank you! Alas I do not have enough friends for even a small gathering so alas it is a future goal! And sadly I am a terrible dancer so I am the "I'll watch the bags and coats at the table" gal 😉
A livestream party would be so awesome. And we could all dress up in our best fancy togs, serve ourselves our favorite fancy beverages and food, and have a fancy time together. 🥳
Now that is the perfect Mardi Gras dress!! Make yourself a sazarac, sit around the house with a few strands of flashy beads and you'll have a party. Who cares if you're by yourself!
This brocade is absolutely stunning! It looks like your dress is made out of a brooch, if that makes sense. Please get some rest this season. You deserve it.
I think this with every single video...not only are your creations amazing, and your voice over totally delightful, but the music you include is always chef's kiss! I appreciate what it adds to the whole esthetic. Thank you for being you in every way!
OHMYGAWWWDDD!! I CAN'T STAND YOU RIGHT NOW! OOH, BIANCA GURL!! WHEN I SAW YOU IN THIS THE FIRST THING HIT ALONG WITH THE MUSIC, WAS YOU IN A FILM NOIR MOVIE WHERE YOU ARE IN A VERY CLASSY JOINT, LOOKING FOR ZACHARY SCOTT, OR JOHN GARFIELD TO WALK IN AND TAKE YOU OUT OF THE JOINT! WOO GURL!! KILLER!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!
Patreon perk idea: a cocktail party over Zoom/Discord/Skype/etc. where those who want to can show off their work that we don't have events to attending.
I for one would be so excited for a live stream with you!! Also, it would be so interesting to see a video of your process from inspiration to sketching to fabric selection/ordering in order to prep a project. I have lots of vague ideas in my head and it's difficult sometimes to solidify them and begin to execute. Thanks for everything you do!
The princess seam going to the neck instead of the armpit is an excellent idea! I dont know how I never saw such an idea before in any sewing patterns or tutorials. And it looks great! I'll have to give it a try!!
I love the way you installed the zipper! It seems so much better than an invisible zipper. I hope you won't beat yourself up too much. Everything has its season. Just like a flower, we can't expect ourselves to be in full bloom all year round. Your hard work shows and it's so amazing! Take a well-deserved break! Even though you don't have to deserve a break to take one.
Wow! What an amazing dress! Beautiful style, colour and pattern. Those colours really suit you. The 80's was a fun decade. Going out meant dressing up whether you did it conservatively or with high glamour. Lots of dancing, running and aerobics. It was a perfect time to be 20 and shallow! 😄
As someone who is the definition of unplanned, unprecicise chaos in my garment sewing watching yours is so calming and inspiring! The dress is so fabulous and the idea of online fancy livestreams are great for those of us who love sewing fancy things but never go anywhere 🤭
Another timeless classic piece. I really like the fact that the simple understated design of the dress itself allows the fabric to be the main feature , Thank you for sharing !
Dazzling, spectacular, beautiful, gorgeous. You are such a stunning young lady. It doesn't look the 80s to me, it kind of looks like something beautiful from the 1930s. Just stunning. Also, stop putting yourself down. It hurts my heart to hear it! I think you're wonderful.
Another beautiful Closet Historian dress! ❤ The camera is officially a magpie! The little buddy likes sparkles.✨ It sucks you lost your footage, I really hope it wasn’t the trench coat you’ve been teasing on Patreon and Instagram. 😬 I’m so excited to see that video!! 😘
Smokey jazz 🎷 🎺 as a background for a dazzling dress. The ensemble is totally complete with the jewelry and purse. If you walked into that speakeasy that should magically appear wherever you roam every eye in the place would be on you!💃
Absolutely gorgeous dress. Love how you styled the dress. Thank you for sharing your talent in pattern drafting you have been such an inspiration to me. ❤️ ❤️❤️
Another gorgeous piece. I, like you, have way more fancy clothes than places to wear them, so would love an online cocktail party. It would be fun to see everyone in glam outfits.
Ooh...99k. Sweet machine. If memory serves, it's a 3/4 size and sews beautifully. At one point I had a collection of older sewing machines (including a Singer Model 66 Red Eye, and a Singer 15-91). Now I have a Featherweight and a Singer 319W that dad gave mom the year I was born (Let's just say it's "vintage"). Hubby has a 99. And I have a modern machine because---why not? :D
A few weeks ago I ran across your darts video. I noticed it was long but I was curious and thought I'd watch for a few minutes. I was so intrigued, I watched the whole thing. It really demystified darts for me. You explain things very well! Now I've watched numerous videos and I am completely hooked on your content. The mandragora silk jacket was one of the most amazing things I've seen. I enjoyed each minute of that video. I think my favorite thing is your pattern making. You explain it so well and make it way less intimidating. Thank you so much, Bianca!
Slightly random, but that lining fabric would make gorgeous curtains! And the dress!! So pretty, I'm imagining how it would twinkle in candlelight, a true showstopper!
I always like princess seams that go into the shoulders. I like the slightly flaring line, and the fitting adjustments. I grew up with Bali bras. My godmother worked for them and was the fit model for the D cup. Oh, switch the needle after sewing the lurex! Or any metallic brocade.
please take us along on your studio cleaning if you can!! I also become a tornado when I'm working on a project (and don't honestly un-tornado between projects) so it would be lovely to have some organizational content to watch/listen to while I'm justifying not finding permanent homes for old project materials Edit: OOOOOOOOOH I'd love to attend a holiday party livestream! It would be a lovely excuse to pull out some of the things I've made that are too fancy for daily life and/or wouldn't get the appreciation they deserve outside of a community of crafters
Stunningly beautiful. Watching a true artist at their craft is a fine lesson in the sublime. It’s 4:30 in the morning and I can’t sleep. After watching another of your videos, I checked out your blog. I am mightily impressed with your Victorian gowns that I saw there. Your attention to detail and the sumptuousness of your fabric selection is outstanding. I look forward to watching you create in future. Cheers!
Bianca, you are by no definition known to humankind a "disaster"! You are awesome and we all love you. Everyone is exhausted by the time we get to December - even you, gorgeous lady, need to sleep sometimes... Keep doing what you do, it's wonderful.
I can see you holding one of those antique/vintage cigarette holders that I believe Hedda Hopper used in the classic movies I enjoy watching. You have that classic look, especially in that gorgeous dress!
Oh, what a Gorgeous Brocade !!! Bianca, my dear, I thought nothing of it, concerning no video on Thanksgiving. I am sorry half of your video disappeared. Oh, what a fun idea, to live stream a party with you. 💖 Superior Job !!! Love that cocktail dress !!! In my opinion, it is a perfect outer representation of your inner self. Your new hairstyle is stupendous! 💖
I enjoyed this one too. I can see that style of coat in organza or chiffon over slim pants and short sleeved top in crepe or shantung. Thank you yet again.
This is gorgeous! I always tended to shy away from those kinds of fabrics because of the fraying, so it was good to see how you finished off the seams and hems. I have a white gel pen made by Clover that acts in a similar way to the Frixion pens that work really well for dark fabrics.
My mom swore by microtex sharp 80/12 for most projects. She changed her needle every Saturday morning, regardless of the amount of sewing she had done during the week. Once she started quilting, she changed her needle (and rotary blade) for every quilt.
Really interesting fabric! The colours on the inside were so nice too. My cats are allowed in my sewing room but I learned the hard (and expensive) way that I have to keep it clean and tidy. I spent $7500 on surgery for one of them after he ate some thread.
I love marking fabric with gel pens! It's usually an easier glide than other options, easy to see but doesn't bleed through, and there are so so many colors out there to play with.
Yea! It's so nice to see you back. I missed you last week. What a great fabric! The dress you made is just the right amount of excitement for such a fabulous fabric.
I have temperature regulation problems, so even with the rayon lining, I would absolutely melt in this dress. I was already planning to try and filter polyester out of my wardrobe and then I started having these issues and it became an absolute must. I can only wear natural fibers now, or I just get overheated.
It's 50$ per yard!! Holy smokes.....! But sooo worth it thou....You look like a million bux 🤩😍You are so good and give me such inspiration of sewing clothes i have not yet dared to try before. Id love a live-coctail-sewing-session where we could wear all our blingy attire with bells and stars 😋🍸
The sewists in Britain do a dressmakers ball- we need one in the US - Love the dress and your videos ! We can all wear our party dresses that we make and wear once! 👗👠
Absolutely stunning. I hope your fur babies are doing well, mine was definitely in a fit of zoomies around 2am this morning while I was studying. Love the colours on you!
It's absolutely gorgeous! The fabric is glam and fantastic, but still very mysterious and gothy, it really gives me fashionable 80s fortune-teller vibes. Stunning!
Thank you for sharing this very sparkly dress. It is beautiful. Re: live streaming on your phone. My iPhone 6s does a great job of live streaming so give it a go! Cocktails are a great idea. Happy Holidays!
🌷 I love the tulip sleeves and enjoyed your whole video style immensely. I came to your site because Stephanie Canada mentioned you in one of her videos, maybe with the Walkaway challenge.
