You could of got much more then £30 mate. I bought a four keeper sterling silver weighs 23 grams and I paid £90 for it. Excellent work their I would 100% buy that. Do you have your own website so I can have a butchers fella.
Amazing talent. 👍. On a 75 day submarine patrol about 30 of us made rings out of silver British coins using a spoon to very slowly flatten and expand the edge then drill out and file the center. Took weeks to do one ring. Something to do on long boring times at sea.
This is my response to people’s disbelief at the detail and intricacy of ancient crafted items and architecture. What else were they gonna do, watch tv, fiddle around on an iPod, play some League? No need to invoke ancient aliens, human boredom often suffices
I was upset before I saw how beautiful it was after you created a ring out of it. Itts lovely and will get more use than as a souvenir. I've only seen the ones cut which seems ashame to separate the artistry from it's org. home, but you have created a stunning, practical work of art! Thank you for sharing.
@@happybee7725Ya, well don’t feel bad man, I lived through the 70’s and I’ve never seen rings from spoons either (at least none that I knew were spoons before). I see now that it’s a real thing and lots of people have been doing this for a while, but it doesn’t lessen the surprise factor for me… this is definitely cool to see and learn about! A spoon??? Lol, very cool. Now I need to dig through some boxes in the basement, I inherited a spoon collection from my grandmother 25 years ago and haven’t looked at it since, but she has spoons from all over the world. There HAS to be some that would be worthwhile making into rings. 🤠👍🏼
@@ricktaylor4real I know. She says she wore spoon rings in the 70’s like that somehow made her superior to us who had not. 🤦😂 she must be really desperate to feel better than someone. She probably doesn’t get to experience it very often.
How can people be mad at this man. He has a skill others don't. Well hats off to you sir, with skills like this you will feed your family in the end times.
he has a tool others don’t. any doorknobs with a press, a spoon and some polish can do this. not that it detracts from the craft, the final product looks great
I had absolutely no idea what I was watching until I saw the shot of it on your finger....This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a good while, and fantastic job on the finished product!
It's more valuable to the right person. I feel like seeing your content and watching you make it makes your items worth 2x to 3x what you currently value them at.
PS. The Spoon Does Not Cost More Than £8.99 In Silver. The Spoon Is Only £8.99-12.99 As The Spoon, The Ring Sold For £29.99 making £13 Profit, If You’re Upset Over The Spoon Being Bent Grow Up 😭💀😂
@@samuelbarns118 yeah, but I'm saying that's our absolute minimum, I thought about updating the comment to clarify, but totally forgot. I would be charging around 30£.
@@samuelbarns118I’m American, I wouldn’t mind paying up to 40 usd for a ring this pretty. Surely somebody would probably pay 50 or so high end. It’s a really neat “ring”
Looks like it can be easily adjusted for size since it's one piece and doesn't need cutting or soldering. Sell it for 50 or 100. It's unique, has a beautiful design and is sterling
I just paid 45 usd for a 1980 quarter (his birth year) that was turned into a ring. I would happily pay 60usd for this ring here, and I know I am not alone. You may feel it was pretty easy to make, but most ppl don’t have the equipment. It is ok to charge a premium for your craft. This ring is wonderful, please value yourself and your art more❤
That’s gorgeous. Almost looks like a knights helmet how they would have the face guard. Definitely worth more than 25 dollars because of the spoons detail adding to the beauty.
@@douglasmaynard7672I’ll sell you the spoons just found me grans rainy day stash of silver spoons 😂. Jokes before anyone gets offended. Nice ring. Definitely looks better with the writing. How and who taught him/ you to do this. Definitely an old many type idea. You can sell them for £40-50. Definitely to the right people . Better than the ones on Temu. Wish , even eBay. Out with saddle rings. Which they are selling for £40-50. With no silver or gold, Figure out how to stick a gem stone of any kind and you definitely making some money. Blue gemstone would look good. In the center /or the sides. Small ones.
My stepfather wore a spoon ring back in the '80s. Not as nice as this one, but they are super cool all the same. I would pay 3x that amount. Awesome ring. I want one!
I’m thinking of sending in some of my fathers ashes to those other people that do the Rings with Resin centres. Hopefully they won’t get flagged for possible Drugs like they did a while ago, I might have to get you to make me a Silver Dollar Ring. Some relatives bought a Silver Dollar when I was born and gave it to my parents for me, I still have after: 44 years 3 months 12 days or 531 months 12 days or 2310 weeks 4 days or 16,174 days or 388,176 hours or 23,290,560 minutes or 1,397,433,600 seconds (December 79’)😮
First the crackheads are stealing all the spoons. Now the jewelry maker is gonna be fighting for the spoons. 😂 I have no chance of eating my soup with a spoon. 😂😂
Man i don’t know how to explain my shock of watching a Spoon turning into a Ring, never in my life before I’ve felt that kinda surprising shock I’m amazed at ur talent of turning spoons into rings. I don’t know where r u in the world I’d love to get one of those ring for my hand, not even bothered by the manly looking ring when you like something doesn’t matter the shapes or looks it comes in😍
I've seen spoon rings before but only the handle used, not the actual spoon part [that is clipped off]. This turned out really pretty. I like how the flattened spoon part acts as a nice background to the art. Beautiful and brilliant
@@yungreaperr8933Obviously if they didn't buy it at $19.99, they wouldn't buy it for even more... 🤦🏼♂ Of course if we're playing theoreticals where ️we have unlimited money, it's a different story, but theoreticals don't pay the bills.
Bro I think you just showed us how to devalue a collectible spoon. Collectible spoons like that rarely sell below $30 as is and can be up to as much as $2500. It took a man but that make this Mark was a company some brothers started in Seattle during the gold rush. So not only is that technically you now devalued but it's also to some an artifact with archaeological merit. Some people would like to have the ring more some people like the spoon more I imagine? But I still think it's probably worth more the way it was. It's a really cool idea I'm not trying to bash your craft. There's a cool idea of rolling a coin made of silver and hitting it with the hammer on an edge and you can make a silver ring out of old silver coins that way really easy by just cutting out the center and then Polish Polish Polish Polish
Just Lovely!😊! I have two Sterling Silver Spoon Rings; one being a rare Dutch Spoon... it's so gorgeous & comfortable as a 'Thumb Ring'...I paid far more than you are charging~you really CAN charge more hunny!! I'm looking for a Bracelet now;- but want something relating to the RAF in memory of my darling Dad...any ideas...? I'd love ro purchase one of yours. H🫂gs Rosie😌
Dope ring and repurposed giving it a new life of daily use! Hand crafted skill and experience turns that piece of jewelry into a piece of art! Cheers bro! Now how can I obtain one of these at this excellent price?!
That song really suits this vid well. Thats a beautiful spoon and a shame to mess it up, but its also a cool ring. Love it and hate it at the same time.
