Subscribed! Probably one of the best Reason tutorials I've ever seen. Thank you! Keep up the good work. I'll be on the lookout for more! How would you fix the clashing between the bass arpeggio notes and the high arp? (I think more of us are interested in that than you think)

Subscribed! I've only recently become aware of SynthWave. Never knew it existed and I love it. Possibly because I was a child of the 80s and remember the music so well. Brings back memories. It's also a real bonus to find someone using Reason 10 to create a superb SynthWave demo. I've long been a Reason user. I had a stab and my quick track came out like a poor 80s TV commercial track. Must try harder next time. Cheers.

@PaulOrtiz
@PaulOrtiz 6 лет назад
Raymond Hayter Cheers! Yeah Europa takes a bit of getting used to. For me it was realising that not every sound needs all the bells and whistles. It's got really nice oscillators and a fat filter so it does simple sounds just as well as complex.

Nice.Never knew what synthwave was.Now i do.Guess I've been making synthwave for a long time.lol. 80's heads like Carpenter, Tangerine Dream were always a big influence.Always described it as soundtracks looking for a movie. I don't use Reason all that often anymore but this tutorial had all sorts of great tips and tricks in using it which could also work in other DAWS.MORE. MORE.
@PaulOrtiz
@PaulOrtiz 6 лет назад
"Soundtracks looking for a movie" - excellent description! Grew up with a lot of Carpenter myself (The Thing, Halloween III, Dark Star - all so memorable!). Really glad you enjoyed this. I'll definitely be doing more as soon as I'm done with a couple of jobs :)

Found out about this channel due to years of listening to your music (from your official catalogue) and now I'll start go through the clips of this channel as well. I know I'm a few years late to the party, but at least it'll take some time to run out of content. All the best!

When you added the piano that you had at the foundry and chorus to I thought you should've had the corresponding those 2/3 bar as well I think that Melody is pretty awesome you left an empty space on the start of the third bar which I thought for the RC been filled but that's your problem your production so you can do as you wish but amazing either way

That was awesome. Got 9.5 but Europa looks like it might become my Thor stock replacement when I get 10. At first glance it looks like it works in a similar way to Serum?
@PaulOrtiz
@PaulOrtiz 6 лет назад
Thanks! They're not a million miles apart, no! But definitely enough between them to consider them unique and individual. I still use Thor a lot though, for just simple analogue style patches (like a 3 oscillator moog setup or whatever). But I am gradually moving over to Europa for more and more things, mostly for the envelopes which are super useful for so many things.

Thanks m8. I switched rooms in the house so the kids would get my bigger office and I moved all my stuff into a smaller room. After that I haven't gotten my audi stuff setup. This ignited that urge. I was born 1980 so this type of sound just ignites something in me :)

Wow this is a great tutorial! I just bought Reason 10 and this is just what I as a user coming from other DAW:s (mainly Cubase) need to know to get started. It looks like the sequencer workflow is super quick in the way it is shown here. Better learn all the shortcuts. CTRL+D (duplicate?) is a must it seems, for example. Also some really nice info with tricks used for the bassdrum and snare plus the pump effect for the bass (Although the latter is also used a lot in EDM with sidechaining). Subscribed.
